I love flowers. It wasn’t one of those “oh, I have always loved flowers” things. It was more of an acquired taste, something I grew to love over time. I may not be very expressive about it, but I adore them. I think gifting someone flowers is such a thoughtful way of telling them that they matter, that you thought about them, and that you wanted to make them feel special. There is something so lovely about it. And no, I don’t believe in the “but they only last a day or two” argument. I can’t quite put into words the emotions that flowers bring out in me when they are gifted. There is something about waking up the next morning, seeing them sitting there, and feeling that little rush of happiness all over again. They make even the most ordinary moments feel a little more cheerful. I want to be someone who always gets people flowers. I want to make it a thing. Because some of the best people in my life have gifted me flowers, and I have adored every single one of them, right down to the last petal. Every time someone gets me flowers, I feel so grateful that I almost find myself wondering, do I really deserve these? And perhaps that is what makes them so special to me. It is not just the flowers, but the thought, the love, and the little reminder that someone wanted to make me happy. So, the next time you meet someone special, get them flowers. Don’t wait for an occasion. Don’t worry about how long they will last. Let them have something beautiful to wake up to, even if only for a few days. And here’s a compilation of all the flowers I’ve received over the years, from people I love to the core. 🌻💐 by @__bitsand_pieces
I used to carry a notebook with me back in time. It literally had every single thought that was in my mind - some made sense, some never did, some stuck with me, and some- i stare and look at myself with disappointment. its been a very very long time since i wrote something in that notebook, or even wrote something at all, perhaps. I have been busy. building towers of life. Some stood strong, some fell down like cards. I read somewhere lately that our life is all just like a card tower- some stay put, some fall down, but we make sure to get up and start building again. But in this run, i have forgotten how much i loved to write, how much words used to comfort me, and the relief it came with. I have been writing since the day i remember- i took breaks- intentional ones, not so-intentional ones, some too long- just like this, but it always brought me comfort, always felt like letting out. So, now whenever someone asks me “what do you like to do” I want to start saying “i write” again. little steps, i guess. by @__bitsand_pieces
/Journal/ Christmas I never had a chance to witness Christmas as a season, until last year. My inner child screamed with happiness seeing all those bright lights& colorful stars the first time I visited a Christmas carnival. And, I had a favorite season jotted down in my mind. The season brought me happiness, and made me full of life. This time, We brought a tiny Christmas tree for our tiny home, decorated it, and nothing brings me more joy than this. Sometimes, it's always the little things like this, brings me sanity. A sense of feeling, that with time, even if it's cold and stormy outside , lights within us will brings us warmth. Let the season bring you same happiness, and joy just like the way I see it. May you surround yourself with people you love, do things that make you smile, and may you always find light within darkness. May you find yourself, every time, with endings and beginnings- of seasons, days & and anything that comes in the way. 🎄 by @__bitsand_pieces
It's been a long time since I wrote something. Life was pretty on the high note all this while, and I have been trying to take up everything altogether. Even with the emotions I went through, there was a sense of urgency, something that makes me go restless to get it all done, and be at my calm. With a new month here, and an year almost coming to it's end, I realise it's totally okay to take it slow. Take things one by one, and soak it all in. Be it emotions, experiences or whatever comes into the way. I realise calmness comes with the state of being in the present, and keeping up with yourself, day by day. by @__bitsand_pieces
July was a month of letting go—of hard emotions, of people, and of many things I had been holding onto tightly because I wasn't ready to process the grief. This month taught me that grief is something to be felt, and we must go through it on our own. Grief is so deeply tied to our emotions that in the race of life, we often forget to truly experience it. Then, one day, all those suppressed feelings come rushing out, making the process incredibly painful. July was also about setting clear boundaries. Someone once told me, "You're not responsible for someone else's pain; their perspective isn't your burden." This resonated with me deeply. I realized I had been carrying unnecessary emotional burdens, and this time, I decided to set clear boundaries. It's so important to change and evolve as a person—with time and with emotions too. July was all about taking those little steps toward being that person🦋✨ by @__bitsand_pieces
/Journal/ It's been raining way too much in Kochi lately, and I am soaking in every bit of it. There were days when it was burning hot and all I wished was for rain. These days, I don't leave a single chance to snuggle myself in the " cosy corner" of my bed, look outside and watch rain pour down into those purple flowers of the nameless tree. I love how comforting it is to sleep at night, how warm it is to stay at home and work with music playing slow. Have you ever thought in this way, that there is a sense of comfort rain brings to our lives? I have heard many people say by now that they hate rain as it's all messy and affects their daily lives, but for me, the rainy season is all about memories, comfort, and pause. I love how the season brings a slowness to our lives, telling us there is no need to rush, and to take a breath, relax, drench in the drizzle and have that warm cup of Chai with some extra love. The season actually lifts lives up, for dead plants, for dried earth and for your chaotic mind too. Let the season do its magic. Take a pause, snuggle in, and look into those raindrops falling.🌧️; A pic from a stormy day from my office window. by @__bitsand_pieces
To show up everyday. No matter how tired you are, how sick you are, or how much you are done with your life- being an adult demands you to show up everyday. For nobody, but yourself. I realize these days that being taken care of by someone is a huge thing. I mean that. Days like these take me back to my home when I can simply lay down in my bed and while Amma brings me some warm Kaapi for comfort. I miss how I never asked her to take care of me, but she always did. Today, I have to get myself up for the things that bring me comfort. Somedays I catch up. Somedays I fall back bad. Today reminded me how tired I am after taking care of hundred things a day. I fell hard today. by @__bitsand_pieces
November felt like a movie. November was a roller coaster of emotions, and this time it was all about happiness. The month was all about going back to people who always felt like home and celebrating those tiny moments of friendship. November, for me, is like the warmth of a blanket in winter. All I wish to do is to snuggle, find comfort in the small, cozy world of mine.It had the essence of being happy about myself- where I am in the race of life. But this time, November went by so fast, with so many memories in hand. November was all about being unapologetically myself. by @__bitsand_pieces
/Journal/ FOMO is real. I get that now. I have been missing out on a lot of things in my life lately. It's too mixed- When I gain something, I am trading off something that I have always kept close to me. I have never been a "settle in" kind of person my whole life. All I ever did was to set up targets and go race towards them. In the process, I have gained so many things that I have always dreamt of having as a little kid. But in return, I lost so many things that I always loved, and cherished. It hits me some moments that I have been gradually losing a part of that old me, but gaining this new person. Adulting, for me, at this stage is all about trying to hold on to everything I have,as mine, in this life- parents, friends, nature, peace of mind, and every small detail that matters. Maybe All I am trying to find is a new me, that beholds the essence of those old memories. Also, next time when you go to a beach, take a moment and watch that sunset.❤️ by @__bitsand_pieces
/People/ From a POV, Adulthood starts with Moving cities. Living in a strange place, all on our own, finding connections, making friends, and trying to meet ends by enjoying every bit of it. Moving places have never been easy for me. It takes a lot of courage to take that one step ahead for me, but things just fall into place after that. We shift cities trying to find a home, and we always try to fit in , trying to make ourselves feel at home. But when you go back to your home, does it feel strange? Like you never belong there at all. The irony is about having so many homes, in so many places- and still not able to find the one. My best friend is moving to a new city tomorrow, I hope he finds a new home within the chaos of the city❤️✨ by @__bitsand_pieces
//Journal// I bought my first journal in 2018 while doing my UG. The book was named " My love diaries", and I still remember how excited I was to buy it. Today, while cleaning my suitcase, I found the book again. I haven't opened it for years now. Back then, I chose to write everything I felt in the book that I couldn't vent to someone or get out of my mind.I read every page I wrote- I laughed at some good memories, cried reading some pages, and felt proud of my older self for being in the present. The pages took me long back to days when I was craving for every little happiness that I get to live today. Younger me deserved much better things. I wish I could tell her that life will be fine, things will turn out great, and she will be much happier. The book was never about self-love. But today it taught me how much I have protected myself, and that I deserve more and more love. This note was kept safe in the book, and yes, everything will be okay. Time heals, and changes happen.❤️ by @__bitsand_pieces
/Journal/ "You are living at least one of your dreams" Life's been good lately. I find myself more at peace, with calmness and gratitude. I moved into a home, just like any other adult to live a 9-5 work life( the timings are never 9-5). My Instagram save is filled with "easy breakfast ideas" and "best amazon buys for home" now. All I wish to be is at home, after a long day,so me and my homie could talk about our life updates. The voices in my head don't shout too much these days- I am too tired every night to listen to them. There have been days, when I literally wished to live the life that I am living today. Days still remain unpredictable- but it excites me, in a manner that I'll anyway deal with it. People have told me that Adulthood is quite boring- I do get that some days. But What I love is the stability it has brought to my life, and how carefully I am trying to adapt to it. It's always one step at a time. Just like I plan to make a balcony garden- one plant at a time ❤️ The pic is one of those days I couldn't get up from bed for work. #adulthood by @__bitsand_pieces
