Fakes Flamingoes presents a group of flamingo-like figures emerging through loose, gestural layers of red, pink, and orange against a pale blue field. Quintana allows the figures to oscillate between representation and abstraction, using dripping paint, exposed marks, and shifting forms to create a scene that feels simultaneously familiar and unstable. The work reflects the intuitive, expressive approach that characterizes his painting, where recognizable imagery often appears through—and dissolves back into—the materiality of the gesture.

In SERENDIPITY, Carlos Quintana explores the generative potential of chance. Figures, animals, and faces emerge through layered gestures, material tensions, and chromatic shifts, occupying a space between recognition and abstraction.

Rather than illustrating a fixed narrative, Quintana’s works invite the viewer into an unstable visual field—one in which forms appear, dissolve, and reconfigure themselves.

En Cuba, las brujitas brotan de golpe con la lluvia para teñir el paisaje de una belleza terca, cotidiana y nuestra. In SILENT SCULPTURE #6, the logic of the series is articulated through two almost identical bodies connected. The reference to the title Perfect Lovers by Félix González-Torres introduces a notion of parity and synchrony, while the piece is sustained in the sculptural: a structure that approaches the sound without activating it, emphasizing the silent presence that characterizes it.
