What a journey this has been! Whew 😅

I realized the other day that it’s been 3 years since I started my “fitness” journey, that has quickly become so much more than I anticipated. This process has certainly not been linear. At some point I became so fixated on “loosing weight”…I lost too much and I wasn’t going about my “fitness” in a health way.

Since then I’ve learned so much about myself and my mindset has shifted from fitness goals to lifestyle goals and overall wellness - about what I consume, protecting my peace, and just focusing on creating the body I’m proud to exist in, rather than one I was unhappy with and uncomfortable in, and not a specific number on a scale.

The point of this post is to offer encouragement. I quite literally could not imagine the person I see in the mirror today those 3-4 years ago. I’m still learning and growing in this journey everyday (toning and the importance of proper nutrition has been the biggest learning curve/challenge!). As someone who experienced debilitating anxiety just thinking about the gym, let alone going in one…just start, everyone starts somewhere and learning is a journey. Embrace that discomfort because I promise it is only temporary! Not every thing you face may change, but nothing will change if you never face it.

P.s. I say this in the most respectful way as a married woman in a very loving and supportive relationship - don’t do it for nobody’s son, daughter, or other being/person, or to look like anyone else. Those things can certainly be supporting factors, sure, but they can’t be sole factors! And (unhealthy) comparison is the thief of joy. Do it for yourself! You’ve got this!! 💪🏽💕
