I’m so proud to be part of #MakeBlackMothersVisible this Black Maternal Mental Health Week.
We filmed a short film that came out amazing, and to now see my face on a billboard and featured on ITV News is such a powerful moment.

Still feeling so grateful after speaking at the Motherhood Black Maternal Health - 10 Year Conference 🤍

@themotherhoodgroup @sandeeigwe - Thank you so much for having me and giving me the space to share my story. It was such a powerful day filled with strength, honesty, and connection. Being in a room with so many incredible women, all passionate about change in maternal health, was truly inspiring.

Moments like this remind me why I keep going — turning pain into purpose and using my voice to advocate, educate, and raise awareness.

Yesterday I filmed with BBC & today my interview was aired. I also had a radio interview this morning - It was an incredible experience sharing my story & spreading awareness. I’m so grateful for all the support and kind messages I’ve received. This journey has been challenging but I’m proud of how far I’ve come in such a short space of time! 🫶🏾 by @__deeshh

Introducing some of the incredible women who are part of The Motherhood Group’s Mums Advisory Board & Ambassadorship Programme 🎊🩷

This initiative brings together mothers with lived experience who are passionate about improving outcomes for Black mothers, babies and families. Through their voices, perspectives and expertise, they will help shape and strengthen our work across maternal health, mental health, research, policy, training and community engagement.

As part of the programme, members will contribute to healthcare professional training, research projects, speaking engagements, campaigns, events and policy discussions, helping to ensure that the experiences of Black mothers remain at the heart of decision-making.

Many of our members have already begun contributing to our work, sharing valuable insights, informing training and research, and helping us drive meaningful change across the maternal health landscape.

At The Motherhood Group, we believe lived experience is expertise. Real change happens when mothers are not only heard, but actively involved in shaping the services, systems and conversations that affect them.

Please join us in welcoming our Mums Advisory Board Members and Ambassadors.

Together, we are helping create a future where Black mothers and families are seen, heard and valued.

I gave a speech at the Empowering Mothers event — something I never thought I’d have the strength to do. I’ve always been an introvert, terrified of public speaking… but pain has pushed me to speak, to share, to raise awareness.

This day was beautiful. A room full of mothers, all carrying their own battles, many sharing their stories with raw honesty. I left feeling so seen, so connected, and so proud to be a mum.

We really are something special. Even when we’re breaking, we still rise. Big Up @chantalbrown_ @mumpreneurlife for such a amazing event. ❤️ by @__deeshh
