I have some exciting news!!!
This fall, I’ll be moving to Las Palmas, Spain for the next 2 years to serve with YWAM!
I’ll be working with YWAM Canarias and helping lead a Discipleship Training School that uses beach volleyball and anti-human trafficking ministry as ways to share the hope of Jesus. I’ll also get to help with Bible schools, volleyball tournaments, evangelism festivals, and outreach opportunities throughout the year.
I’m incredibly excited (and a little nervous), but more than anything, I’m thankful that God is faithful to lead us one step at a time.

Looking back, I can see that God has been writing this story long before I realized it.
While I was on outreach in Africa, the Lord put it on my heart to learn Spanish. At the time, I had no idea why—I just knew I needed to be obedient.
After coming home, I attended the School of Ministry through Calvary, where I spent a year growing in God’s Word and learning what it looks like to serve Him wholeheartedly.

Around that same time, I started playing beach volleyball at Charlie’s.
What started as just playing volleyball quickly became an opportunity to build relationships, share Jesus, and love people well. Without realizing it, God was growing my love for using sports as a way to reach others.
Then, after finishing school, I started looking into mission opportunities… and I came across a Beach Volleyball DTS in Spain.
It felt like every little piece God had been putting together finally made sense.

For the next two years, I’ll have the privilege of discipling students, sharing the Gospel through sports, serving those impacted by human trafficking, and helping equip others to take the hope of Jesus to the nations.
I truly believe this is where the Lord is leading me, and I’m so excited to see what He does.

I can’t do this alone.

one thing that blows my mind is confusion on love.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
This verse is very common and those who have heard it over and over can easily become numb to it. It’s a list of commands impossible for any human to keep. This list is recited at wedding after wedding and all I could think was that they are going to break almost every command there. It’s impossible for them not to. They’re human.
Then someone told me to replace the word ”Love” with “God”.

See, this idea of love is not for humans to uphold on our own. We are selfish at nature and there are days where I just don’t feel like loving my neighbor.
But that’s the joy of God. He doesn’t expect us to do it on our own. That verse wasn’t meant as a list of commands to uphold during a marriage, it’s meant to show all of the wonderful attributes of God who IS love. Love is not a feeling, it’s a being.
As humans, we aren’t meant to love each other on our own. Our version of love is lacking and is full of flaws. How can we be expected to love one another without knowing who Love is.
God gave His only son to be sacrificed on the cross so that WE can experience His love. The love that we deserve is the worldly love from man. That love is full of pain and lies and sadness. There is a love that we do NOT deserve that has been given freely and more than that
HE WANTS US. He desires to love you. It’s not a pity love. It is an all consuming desire to KNOW you and be apart of your life. He’s just waiting for the door to open and you to let Him in.
