If I’m being completely honest, getting rebaptized this year was not on my bingo card.

Today, I had the incredible privilege of publicly rededicating my life to Christ, and I cannot think of a more meaningful place to do it than Fellowship. This church has helped carry me through some of the deepest and darkest moments of my life and has become a place of healing, growth, and unconditional love.

@rwsharpejr , thank you for your leadership and for the oil you have poured into so many lives. I have followed your ministry since I was a teenager, and it was an honor to have you baptize me today.

@fellowshipchicago , thank you for your grace, mercy, prayers, and love. From the first Sunday I walked through the doors, you welcomed me with open arms. My life has been forever changed, and I am proud to call Fellowship my home church.

To my family and friends, thank you for every prayer, pep talk, sacrifice, and word of encouragement. I would not be here without you.

Today isn’t about perfection, but it’s about surrender. It’s about choosing, once again, to follow Jesus and trust Him with every part of my life.

We outside and putting on for our community! Love to see young people showing up, getting to work, and taking care of our blocks. Much love to everybody who came through! ❤️

Today was one of those days that made me stop and say, won’t He do it! Chicago has become home, and I’m grateful for how quickly this city has given me opportunities to serve, build relationships, and contribute to work that matters.

I’m incredibly proud to serve as Director of Development for @kobeyforalderman37 , working alongside a dream team to elect Kobey as the next Alderman of Chicago’s 37th Ward. From fundraising and strategy to being out in community, we’re building this campaign from the ground up, and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead.

Today, I also had the honor of being invited to join @brandon4chicago for his special announcement as he launched his campaign for four more years. To witness a major moment in Chicago politics while continuing to build relationships with people doing this work across our city was incredibly special.

I’m learning that sometimes God will answer prayers by putting work in your hands, people in your path, and purpose in your reach. I’m grateful, I’m working, and I’m just getting started.

Democracy is not something we simply inherit. It is something we must protect, strengthen, and fight for.

There is too much at stake to remain silent in the face of injustice. Our democracy is only as strong as our willingness to defend it and ensure it works for everyone.

Some places don’t just tell history. They remind you what faith can do.

Standing at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, I wasn’t just thinking about a dream. I was thinking about obedience.

Dr. King answered God’s call in a way that changed a nation. His life reminds us that faith isn’t just what we believe on Sunday. It’s how we live on Monday. It’s choosing justice when it’s costly, loving when it’s difficult, and serving even when no one is watching.

I left this place praying that God would make me less concerned with building a platform and more concerned with building His Kingdom.

May we never be satisfied with admiring Dr. King’s legacy if we’re unwilling to continue the work of loving our neighbors, pursuing justice, and walking humbly with God.

Washington, D.C. was more than a trip. It was a reminder of why I do this work.

A special thank you to @thememorialfoundation for creating a space where we could learn, reflect, and grow together. Throughout the week, we explored the history that continues to shape our nation, engaged in meaningful conversations about leadership, advocacy, and public service, and collaborated with leaders from across the country who are committed to strengthening their communities.

Standing at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial was a powerful reminder that history is not only something we remember, but something we are called to continue. Dr. King challenged a nation to move beyond comfort and toward justice, compassion, and beloved community. His legacy reminds us that leadership is measured not by the positions we hold, but by the lives we serve.

I leave Washington with a renewed sense of purpose, grateful for the relationships built, the lessons learned, and the responsibility we all share to keep doing the work. May we never grow weary of serving others, seeking justice, and building communities where everyone can flourish.
