5 years ago today, I received the worst call of my life. My mommy had now become my guardian angel. Losing you taught me the meaning of life, what real love really is. Losing our relationship taught me how capable I was of loving, losing, and feeling pain. You taught me the meaning of love. As I get older I see why you taught me so many of the things you did. You believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. No matter where life takes me, I will always take a part of you with me. Losing you has given me purpose. This one HURTS 💔😢 Yesterday I received a call that my Godfather, Jose Velez, Passed away. I couldn’t speak as my mind began to race and I began to cry as SOOOOooooo many childhood memories came running thru my mind. How to throw a baseball and hit, I’d get so pissed everytime he whipped my ass in handball, the long walks home from my elementary school in Manhattan (116th st Pleasant Ave) to the 161st St in the Bronx! Going to the comic book store. The Pet Shop. The Long bicycle rides! Thank You! For being my Dads Best friend for 45+ years! My heart aches for him. To my sister @_tainamia_ My Second mom. OUR warrior! Thank you for being by his side so he wasn’t alone. I LOVE YOU! 🧡. JOE!!!! You Now have your 🪽Joe! Fly High! Mommy is waiting for you!
