Mad tour news! London at Phlox Books is SOLD OUT, Wilderness Festival is ON, and the brilliant @minnasalami_ is joining me for the Leyton gig which is incredible because her book Sensuous Knowledge is an utter inspiration.More special guests on this tour include the amazing Alice Albinia in Frome at @huntingravenbooks, the incredible storyteller @niallmoorjani at @waterstones.argylestreet, and then a joyous autumn of collaborations with @brigidlowewriter and @elizabethsulis on all things shapeshifting and feminist folk, starting in Manchester at @urmstonbooks in September.The WIP live show of No Fair Maidens is having its first outing at @art.works.east in July, with hydro feminist folk collective @sarahweilermusic and @teeniewatson, and artwork curated by @lauravillareshouseart. If female-centric storytelling designed to bed matriarchy back in our warped systems is your kind of jam, message me and I’ll add you to the list 😉And for the women who love the chwedlau Cymru, we have a special evening in the works with the Chwedl network and Fiona Collins (whose upcoming book Heledd’s Song is wonderful). ✨ Five weeks of No Fair Maidens…In The Wild!Thank you so much to everyone who has bought, read, stocked, shared their responses, underlined passages, taken her on adventures, shared with friends, posted Stories, written words, sent voice notes…it’s been so incredible to see these old stories start to spread far and wide, reweaving our remembering of old folklore & deep land connection. And of the women, the women, the powerful women ⚡️In a glut of hero narratives and patriarchal myths, I’m not sure we’ve ever needed these women more.Let’s. Keep. Last night we had the absolute honour of joining the @art.works.east Symbiosis Exhibition to share some the tales from No Fair Maidens, with songs from our new hydro feminist folk collective (!) The Water Folk, with the stunning vocals of @teeniewatson and @sarahweilermusic.We spoke of river sources, of lakes filled with poetry, of an island of magical women who hold the world in balance. Im not sure I can think of anything better than this: telling stories for an evening, weaving our island’s mythology in a spell. I feel like we made a little of that mythic world rejoin us in ours, and by goddess we need it.Thanks to everyone who made it on a sweltering night, to @sarazaltashmusic for this soul-calling song in particular, to @lauravillareshouseart for curating such a moving and powerful exhibition. It was such a special moment 🌊🧡 by @__kimwillis

The No Fair Maidens storytelling experience landed in the ruin of a Norman castle in South Wales last night, weaving Welsh myth with embodiment, song and some witchy history, to remember these lands as a place where women were, and are, a force of nature 🐍 I always imagined this book would become a show or mythic journey of some kind, helping us reembody the stories and magic too often long forgotten. But it was so much busier than I expected, and in honesty I was bricking it! Still, it seemed enchanted in there, for a moment at least…Thanks to @sarahweilermusic and @teeniewatson for the songs, Theo, Ross & Jenn at the @lovetrailsfestival for the invitation to experiment like this, and everyone who came along and offered the depth of their presence and attention, late on a Saturday, bodies sore from the intensity of the weekend.
