18 hours. 4 rounds of golf. 40km walked. 32 degree heat. A 3am start. And they were STILL smiling at the end 💙

I genuinely cannot put into words how proud I am of @alfiecaudery_golf and his incredible @miltonabbey friends and brilliantly supportive - and heroic! - teacher yesterday. When Round 3 got tough and every shot seemed to go against them, they kept each other going. Not just physically, mentally too. That’s the part that meant the most to me.

And then they finished it all with the most beautiful prize giving — Alfie even prepared a little speech 🥹 - made extra special as Zach & Rocco’s parents walked with us too.

A special thanks to Zach & Rob Jelley, without whose help and support, together with the team & members @broadstonegolf , none of this would have been possible.

And a further thank you to Mr Ben Lawes, the boy’s Director of Sport. He’s an incredible inspiration to them and it was wonderful to see the respect & camaraderie between them all. The type of teacher you feel very lucky to have. Thank you for guiding the boys. And for keeping going!

They’ve raised £4,000 for @cardiacriskintheyoung and we would LOVE to reach £5k. It’s not too late to donate and help make that happen. To those of you that have: THANK YOU. The boys constantly talked about the donations and how much they meant to them all.

This means everything to us — a true tribute to Alfie’s determination and love for his Daddy ♥️♥️♥️

Setting out on their first round of 4 today at 4am. Sorry if it seems I’m posting a lot about Alfie’s fundraising but knowing we lost his Daddy - just a few days after Alfie’s first birthday - to something that might have been detected through cardiac screening, means we’ll always want to raise awareness. For our family. For other families. And maybe your family too. ♥️ Alfie’s now part of a regular screening programme and whilst we’ll always live worrying that Alfie might have inherited the same cardiac condition, with everyone’s support we can hope that detection and cure become reality. HUGE thanks to Alfie’s @miltonabbey school friends, Zach & Rocco, and his teacher Mr Lawes for helping to make all this possible for Alfie ♥️ Photos from the first tee and Alfie using his Dad’s putter ♥️ by @__laura_loves__

What makes a great event: place, people & purpose ✨ Thank you @thewalledgardencobham @samslipper for sharing your magical space, @shespeakssupperclub @jessiewalescomms for curating such a brilliant group of women and a great talk by @janeshep and @annawoodscoaching. And to the brilliant @emily_alice_jones of @twomanycooks for one of my favourite meals of the year – it was perfect.
