New zine 💌 Is it over? The fabrication of the end of the pandemic (on both sides of the prison walls) 🪫 This 12-page zine is an expanded version of the text I shared at Arika in November, about long Covid, its impacts on political organising, mass forgetting and the treatment of the pandemic in prisons, with input from Kev Thakrar. Hey friends, feeling compelled to share the COVID precautions I'm taking as we're in a big old surge right now. I get most of my info from people sharing new science online & from disabled/chronically ill friends & clients - lots of people aren't getting these memos though. Just cause the gov't has abandoned us to the plague doesn't mean it won't catch up with us. Even small actions add up! 🪽

Eg.
- testing with an LFT once a week (daily if I have symptoms)
- getting vaccinated every winter - I'm not on any priority lists but you can book yourself in & say you are caring for someone or live with someone with a compromised immune system (if they've had COVID at all, this is technically true)
- masking in shops, appointments, public transport, protests & busy meetings, etc, with FFP2 or FFP3 masks (blue surgical or cloth ones don't cut it I'm afraid but you can get good ones in cute colours now)
- not hanging out in person/indoors with friends if they have any cold-like symptoms - feels sad to patch plans but it's an act of love 💕 COVID has weakened our immune systems so even a cold can have big impacts
- using nasal spray with carrageenan 2/3 times per day which acts as a barrier to germs, & gargling mouthwash containing CPC (cetylpyridinium chloride) in the evening which can kill germs before they take hold
- using a HEPA air purifier at work/events - maybe something to hassle your boss to buy for your workplace?

I bulk order stuff from UKMedi or Medisave & write it off as a business expense :)

Long COVID is disrupting my life & the life of various loved ones & I don't wish it on anyone. The more you get infected the more likely it is to hit you in all sorts of weird ways later. We don't have to go back to living in lockdown to take a few measures to protect each other 🙏🏻 love & rage 💋 taken in Plaguelands by @__leomoon

New issue of my per-zine is about friendship and grief, organising, fatigue, and transition. I started writing it on the autumn equinox and got finished copies on the winter solstice ready to post out over the coming slow days.

Words will come eventually, today I offer some photos of sweet Adrian Saskia, kindred spirit, angel loved by so many of us. Endless love to everyone grieving & endless thanks to all of you making me feel held at this time.

5. At Dumbrock Loch, spring 2022, the day the trains were disrupted but we were so determined to get in that specific body of water that we travelled ~3 hours each way just to Milngavie
6. At the Devil's Pulpit on my birthday, October 2022, before getting in the water and clinging on for dear life (they always got in the water with me even when it was a terrible idea)
