Regional Pacific Islander Taskforce Team had a well-deserved fun retreat to close out FY25-26! We focused on fun and wellness!! We began with reflective writing and sharing, then origami workshop, lomi-lomi, and ended our day at Topgolf!! We happened upon Mass last week while in Hawai`i. There's something about hearing hymns sung in Pasefika languages (Tongan in this case) that stirs something deep in your core. The harmonies, the language, the warmth and ease of community, the smiles that radiate through the eyes -- it feels like home.

At the end of my first week in the office since being away for over a month, we attended Friday evening Mass with his Eminence Cardinal Soane Patita Paini Mafi. We were honored to meet his Eminence. Clint is Catholic so witnesseing him settle into the rhythm of mass eventhough it was conducted fully in Tongan was deeply spiritual. Thank you Leafa Taumoepeau for inviting us. The pews were full and the women wore their best sequin. It was a great way to pause at the end of the week, reconnect spiritually, and carry peace into the weekend.
