🖼️HANDLE WITH CARE ART BREAKDOWN🖼️ How do you visually represent an entire album when every song has so much character on their own? That was the challenge when designing the art for Handle With Care. Going into the album we knew we wanted to move away from the Polaroids that we did for all the singles. Originally we had a more abstract design (slide 2) with the working title “It Didn’t Mean Much Until You Came Along” which is one of the lines in ‘Lovestruck’. I’ve always been a fan of when the album is named after a lyric in the song, it’s like when they say the name of the movie in the movie, but even cooler. As we were progressing with the abstract design, we all came to the conclusion that the art was cool but didn’t quite fit the vibe of the album. George wanted to move to more of an image with a clear subject on top of some sort of background, which was fine with me cus that’s more where my head was at anyways. I ended up calling George to see if there were any objects we mention in the songs, and the line “I explode like a hand grenade” from our closer, ‘Goodbye’, immediately jumped out. I knew I had a real inert hand grenade that I got as a paper weight and immediately had a vision for the art. I took a photo of the grenade dangling from my finger and then printed out and hand tore the edges off. The first draft was done with watercolor markers on mixed media paper, with the grenade and text being layered on top. The design was now set, but the hand drawn nature of the background was a little too raw, so I decided to make that out of construction paper instead, which took several days of cutting. Doing the art collage style ended up working great cus we were able to try a bunch of different color schemes. While the blue one was my personal favorite I think the orange pops very nicely. The final step was taking the collage and scanning it into my drawing software. I chose the Stencil font to match the grenade theme, and stretched it to give it some more personality. Finally, I added a worn paper texture to help ‘glue’ all the elements together and give it a cohesive feel. - @plorb0 HANDLE WITH CARE OUT EVERYWHERE MAY 30TH! Presave in bio 😁 by @__plorbo__
The most sensible clown still works at the circus :0) Some of my favorite @cosmodio.instruments doodles as of late. These are so much fun and it’s nice to try out a bunch of different ideas, it’s a good exercise in letting the ideas flow. #doodles #guitarpedals #cosmodioinstruments by @__plorbo__

Happy bicycle day! Free your mind with the sweet sweet sounds of @prg.band as you drift on a river of sunlight 🌞 This was a really fun piece (The fun piece is real!) and I enjoyed using my gold ink, as well as made some old tea water to stain the page. Have a crazy gig tonight with the ghouls, and next week is my last week of college, it’s a crazy fun time! #art #prg #rock #albumcover #singlerelease #band #thesun by @__plorbo__
