Got a little inspired by the previous experiment. Tried the same Acrylic ink + acrylic paint marker combo but this time I started with a greyscale / value drawing as an underpainting and something real rather than surreal. LOOK! It’s a chair!!!

More anxiety painting!!!

Every once in awhile, I make something that feels like I HUGE leap in skill. This is one of those pieces. I started with paint markers and blending tools… and then glazed and washed with acrylic ink until things “made sense” (scroll to travel backwards in time)

Doing a little financial trauma anxiety release painting…

And by little I mean, these are significantly larger surfaces than the last few 100 or so things I have painted… and there are two of them.

I already see my undoing…
It will involve lots of eye strain, cbd hand cream, compression gloves, a magnifying glass, acrylic paint markers, blending sticks, and a many many paper towels.
LFG (as the kids say)

Ok… I think this is done.
I went a bit ham with the magnifying glasses and the tiny brushes. This one sat taped on the back of the big board for two years before I was inspired to pick it back up… the second photo is shortly after I began chipping away at it IN OCTOBER. Happy new year

ok. I think I can safely call this one completely complete. Final final
Done done

I could do more glazing and lighting adjustments but…
I have reached the point where I know that if I do anything more to it I’ll hate it…
So here we are:

After finally hanging this I decided it needed to be able to see… off the wall and onto the desk it went. And now it’s a nearly complete wEiRd game of hide and seek.

This pleases me

This was supposed to be a quick study (to test these watercolor tubes I’ve neglected ) and instead the gouache showed up and it became a more serious study of some weird and vaguely murdery hands. Consider it a subtle reminder to wash your hands?

I like where this went A LOT!
So much in fact that I dragged out the watercolor block to conduct similar experiments
