During a well-deserved little break from running projects and feeding the algorithm, I’ve decided not to go out, but to go in, so I felt a deep intention to discover my Polish roots. The discoveries have been absolutely mind-blowing.
On my mother’s side, we descend from the ancient Polish Budzińskie family — a surname my mother still carries. You can see the family coat of arms in the slides.
In the first 2 slides is Avgustina Miklashevskaya (née Budzinskaya), a theatre and film actress and the sister of my great-grandfather. She is also remembered as a beloved muse of the legendary poet Sergey Yesenin, who dedicated seven love poems to her.
Another incredible discovery: my great-grandfather’s brother Andrew Budzinski was a USSR sambo champion!
But this journey has also revealed some painful chapters. I discovered that my great-grandfather Vladimir Budzinski was listed as missing in action during WWII, leaving my great-grandmother to raise my grandfather alone. Yet, in the very year I was born, my great-grandfather received a second Hero of War distinction. The address on the archival document has been redacted. So basically my grandfather died without knowing his father was alive most of his life…
And there is still so much to uncover. How the parents of these three siblings fell victim to Soviet repression and were exiled to the Urals — and what ultimately happened to them — remains a mystery I have yet to solve.
Feeling a little ghosty but also inspired. will keep going in 🫆 taken in Warsaw, Poland by @__raketka

Feeling deeply inspired and still vibrating after a full night of ambient sound at the Skała Stage during Varushniak Festival last weekend.

Huge respect to all the artists involved and to the organizers @shuma_duo for giving us the space to express different sides of our musical identity. It truly feels like the beginning of a new chapter, with my side project finally taking shape.

Next stops:
🌿 @kupalle.ge Festival
• Friday 10/07 — opening the DJ Stage with my ambient set.
• Saturday night 11/07 — returning to the Main Stage with a classic vinyl-only techno set.

P.S. Thanks to everyone for all the photos and videos. Your support, energy under the +35C heat, and memories mean a lot. 🖤 taken in Warsaw, Poland by @__raketka

The season of flower wreaths and flower power has begun. Let it unfold in the best pagan traditions.
Only nine days remain until the mighty Varushniak Open Air returns for another midsummer ritual.
I’ll be at the Skala Stage with a vinyl-only selection of abstract dreamscapes, dubbed echoes, and cosmic drifts.
Something is already stirring in the grass. 🐦‍🔥 taken in Warsaw, Poland by @__raketka
