THE VOID. ( Read )
.
Our life is all about priorities. We allocate our time in each day according to those priorities. Then a routine arises. We stick to it. Our priorities could be Us, our work, the people who we care for. Everything external comes after that. Eventually we get used to it.

All of a sudden comes a disruption in the routine. May be we met with an accident or lost the job or death/separation of close ones. And that creates a big VOID.
We were not ready for that uncertainty. Slowly an emptiness creeps in. Having nothing to look up to. Might be temporary or permanent.

It is at this time we try to fill the void. We will be in a rush. And that rush could ruin you. It is at this time we should be more careful on our approach. Some lean towards self development and some towards grief. Both are OK.

What is it actually? Is it that we are missing our routine or our job or the close person ? Or are we suddenly overwhelmed with the free time that we received, which were otherwise preoccupied ?
As we are emotional beings, we will answer it emotionally rather than logically. Which is also OK.

Lily
ലില്ലി 👇
.
Lily, my Mom.
Its her hands, holding a water Lily.
Its a contrast that how tender her hands were, just like a flower and how much roughness it has gathered over time.
Those hands never ceased to provide.

A Year completed since i restarted drawing. It was my mother who gave me a box of pencils which she found while cleaning.

"The Canvas of Mind."
New Work.
.
.
Our Mind.
Everything we are other than our physical self.
From our own personality to our desires.

The only thing which is equally given to every person, like a blank canvas.
It's us who draw on that from our first breathe to the last eventually leading to who we are.
Sometimes we don't have the control on what we draw.
Situations arising in life might leave permenant scar in our mind, just like we apply so much pressure on the canvas and it leaves a mark even after erasing.

Now coming to the work.
Its the result of a deep delve into my circumstances, my surroundings, my feelings. How much our mind is our friend and enemy.

Feel free to interpret in your own ways.

Metaphors:
•The Canvas - Our Mind
•Cracks on paper - Horrifying Childhood, Heartbreaks, Tragedy etc.
•Hand - with pencil - we feeding our mind with information, knowledge, experience, emotions.
•Hand - Resting - Its the peacefulness, Calmness, Sleep
•Hand - with eraser - Trying to correct what we have learned wrong.
•Hands - with masking tape - Trying to heal or adapt.
•Pencils - its the different resources available to us to grow.

Fun fact : Our mind doesn't have the ability to distinguish between a real event and our thoughts. Its because of that we sweat and our heartbeat rise when had a nightmare.

Size : 71 x 56 CM

EVERY LIVES MATTER ( Please Read Description )
.
New Drawing
.
SKIN....the largest and the most underrated organ in human body....we are the most Vulnerable in its absence.
It is so pitiful that an organ is portrayed in entirely different context than it actually should be.
Yes i am talking about RACISM.

Lets check what determined our skin color in the first place thousands of years ago( Before the invention of transport facilities )
• The amount of UV Radiation hitting the different parts of the world determined the skin color, to adapt and protect human body. ( Scientific details is available online )
• Our ancestors were living at 2 parts of the world
1. Equatorial Region - Dark
2. Polar Region - Fair
• These skin tones became part of our genes.

After the invention of transport facilities
• Geographic exploration
• Colonisation
• Conquests
• Migration
began and thus the mutations started happening and we became mixed up.

We are so scientifically driven generation talking about colonising mars, Black holes, worm holes, Aliens but when it comes to our own body we became so ancient and naive.

Open your senses and see whats inside every human being. Your skin is for your protection and for other people to identify you, not to discriminate.

Metaphors :
• Skinless person - To showcase how identical, Vulnerable and unidentifiable we are without the skin.

OVERTHINKING ( Please Read Description )
.
New Drawing
.
Overthinking is to THINK about something too MUCH or for too LONG.
Thoughts are like breathing, its always there.
But sometimes it gets out of hand.
It makes you worry about the future, making catastrophic predictions about unlikely events that haven’t happened yet.
It will lead you to a place far from reality.

A chronic overthinker is said to be on his way to depression.

What's the cure?
Identifying whether you are an overthinker itself is half the cure. ( Self Realisation )
Talking to close ones will help you to identify whether you are overthinking or not.
Do things which makes you happy and get engaged.

I have been there guys. And my close ones had helped me. Overthinking helped me in creating my artworks. But it had cost me a lot on the other side. Finding the balance is important.

Metaphor :
1. Smoke in head - the burning of thoughts.
2. Smoke in eyes - overthinking preventing the subject from perceiving the reality sometimes.
3. Tears in eyes - in some circumstances the end result will be tears of what we have ruined along the way, which we held close to our hearts. ©Sudev

UNEMPLOYMENT ( Please Read Description )
New Drawing.
.
Our Work is our identity
It is so much painful to exist here without an identity.
It became more suffocative if its not your fault or you have nothing to do about it.

Here comes the most daunting condition experienced even by the most developed countries. UNEMPLOYMENT.
Here what i tried to say is Life becomes an unfinished sculpture without a Job. Doesn't matter whether it is an office employment or self employment.

Metaphors :
• Sculpture - It means Our Life as it is under construction every time. • Faceless - Lose of identity of an unemployed person
• No hands - No job opportunities even if every tool is available ( General work - Hammer , Protective utility Coat , Helmet ) . ©Sudev

Unemployment Facts : •Unemployment Rate in India averaged 9.11 percent from 2018 until 2020, reaching an all time high of 23.50 percent in April of 2020 and a record low of 6.70 percent in November of 2018.
( A percentage of available work force ) • Population exposure also contribute in the worsened unemployment scenario. • Lack of infrastructure and less support given by certain governments to run a business often retracts foreign companies to setup their business in our country.
