Last night my best friend stopped suffering and was able to finally rest. Mom, you fought cancer with grit and grace, and a bit too much independence- but that’s just who you were. I will take everything you’ve taught me, all of the best parts of you that live in me…and continue to keep my head up. I will miss calling you every day, driving you crazy with my constant updates. I will miss laughing my ass off with you on every vacation we took. I know you’ll be watching me, and I hope you’re somewhere listening to the B-52’s, and eating country fried steak. I will love you forever. Lucky to have known you, and you will always be my first best friend. by @__zianaaaa

The theme of this quarter so far has been “Bella’s best summer ever”. I have taken some necessary time out of the office to enjoy what might be her last one, and every moment has been incredibly special. 💙 by @__zianaaaa

In June 2020 Ryan and I met on Concord st in Portland. In May of 2026 we got engaged on Concord st in Charleston (see pic 2). This really is the happiest I’ve ever been (only you missing you, mom) and I’ve been completely blown away by the excitement and kind words from all of our friends and family. Also, Bella’s chemo is going so well and no new tumors are forming atm. Life is good 🤍 taken in Charleston, South Carolina by @__zianaaaa

If I’ve learned anything since 2020, it would be that time is precious, and everything can change in the blink of an eye. I almost didn’t take this little trip because I’ve been so consumed with Bella’s tumor, surgery, and then cancer diagnosis, but I’m constantly reminded of the amazing support system that I have at home, who made this little getaway possible, so thank you to our families. 🤍 this winter was incredibly hard, but there were great times sprinkled throughout. Additionally thankful for the little bit of warmth that will hopefully carry me through this next challenging season, and praying for a helpful chemo journey for Bella, that will ideally give us more quality time ❤️‍🩹🙌🏼 by @__zianaaaa

This was her first snow, now she has seen so many. Today my girl is 11. Bella, this was the first year you really showed your age; trialing joint supplements to medications, the adverse effects that can go along with those, the limps and groans, it was tough. The problem is that you have never wanted to walk- only run - you and I are a lot alike. I assume at this age we’ll never learn to slow down, but I also never want to see your spirit die. Lately, luckily, you’ve been feeling so much better. I booked us a little cabin weekend getaway in the woods later this month with your dad and your sister, because making memories is what we do best. I love you so much, you are my family and the one I grew up with. 6 weeks old to 572 weeks 🤍 by @__zianaaaa
