Background story alert 🚨 Wake Up 💫I heard this track for the first time in the early nineties on the radioshow TeknoVille @stubru
I didn’t know the artist and couldn’t find the music in my local record store.
💕 I only heard it on the radio that one time. This was about 3 years before I started DJ’ing in 1996/97.

Around this time too also in ‘94, I was listening to a CD mix, House Party 9, which was quite a commercial compilation. But by magic, there it was: “Wake Up” by @laurent_garnier.

🪐I remember playing that part of the mix over and over again. Soon after, I discovered more tracks of him like Acid Eiffel, though I didn’t know for some time that it was also one of his projects.

I also vividly remember hearing “The Man With The Red Face” for the first time (also on Studio Brussels!) and exploring The Cloudmaking Machine album, which initially confused me – a reason I still love it so much. 💜The fact that I remember all these moments so clearly, including his DJ sets, speaks volumes about the impact Laurent Garnier has had on me.

As you can imagine, I am honored to play a DJ set at this event alongside such great artists, and I hope to see you there.

Thank you, @elektronikzoo

🌌for many a difficult day, rip Ronald aka @reneopsedee René Opsedee. Last but not least, I will leave one of his poems here (Dutch)

Doctrine van de Echo
Ze noemen het een visie.
Ik noem het een doctrine.
Een doctrine waarin één smaak
zich voordoet als de enige waarheid.
Waar festivals geen ontdekkingsreizen meer zijn,
maar etalages van dezelfde namen.
Waar muziek geen kunst meer is,
maar een product.
En de dj?
Die draait geen verhaal meer.
Hij draait een trailer.
Veertig seconden van een track.
Klik. Volgende.
ooit
ophoudt
met
kloppen.

Proper dreamy prog deep house vibes from ‘98: Medway, The Resurrection EP on Hooj Choons, one of my favourite labels from mid to late 90s 🧡

Listen to my contribution to the Elektronauts DR(((((O)))))NE Day 2026.
👽 A community project by members of Elektronauts to celebrate Drone Day 2026 www.droneday.org. 🫶Together we produced more than 16 hours of drones!
👽 Created and compiled in the weeks leading up to the sacred international day of oscillation and resonance on 30/5/2026,
this compilation seeks to “awaken tiny vibrations in your skin and between all your bones” as well as showcase our collective ability to extend slow filter sweeps beyond all levels of reason.

Watch the full compilation on YouTube (link in bio). There’s a lot of it to vibe through, so it’s split into two parts. On an entirely arbitrary basis. There is no yin or yang. Only drone.

Everything was streamed at www.nullband.org @_nullband

Deep thanks to Matt & the Elektronauts community for putting this together
