As summer comes to an end, I’ve been reflecting on how much this season pushed me outside of my comfort zone. I made an effort to attend more events, meet new people, and build connections within the design industry. I’m grateful for every conversation, opportunity, and perspective I’ve gained along the way. There’s something beautiful about how connected we all are, like branches growing from the same tree. You meet one person, and somehow they know someone who knows someone else. A simple conversation can become a friendship, an opportunity, a collaboration, or the next step in your career. Sometimes growth comes from being surrounded by people who challenge the way you think, introduce you to something new, or simply remind you that there is more than one way to approach the world. Nothing is truly normal.
That’s the heart of this brand. β€œNormal” is a word that people throw around to define what’s acceptable, expected, or common. But when you really think about itβ€”what is normal? What’s considered normal in one culture, city, or household can be completely foreign in another. Even the way we dress, talk, or express ourselves shifts depending on who we’re around. So I created Normal to challenge that idea. My characters may look β€œstrange” or β€œdifferent” to some, but in their world, they’re just being themselves. And that’s the point. Normal doesn’t mean blending in. It means embracing your realityβ€”your style, your phases, your story, and your faith. My brand reflects the different sides of meβ€”bold, quiet, playful, experimental, grounded. Sometimes I dress loud and colorful. Sometimes I’m minimal. Sometimes I pull from my surroundings or a mood I’m in. Sometimes I lean into my spirituality and the peace it gives me. It’s all me. It’s all β€œnormal” to me. And that’s what I want this line to stand for:
Being unapologetically yourself, even when it doesn’t look β€œnormal” to everyone else. by @_abcreatez_
