the sweetest night!!
growing up at ACS has truly been one of the biggest blessings! my whole life i have seen what a true community and endless support looks like! i have been provided countless opportunities and i truly couldn’t be more thankful for the things this school has taught me. over the past 13 years i have looked up to the people above me, and it’s so surreal knowing i get to be that for others. thank you ACS for providing me this opportunity alongside my best friends!! 🥹💙 by @_addie.driskill

this past week spent in colorado taught me how to truly love. i reunited with old friends, saw the Lord’s beauty in so many new ways, learned what it felt like to be truly uncomfortable, and witnessed some of the most pure hearts. dry bones is a place where everyone knows they belong. a place where you can walk up to someone and learn their story, a place where when everything is falling apart only joy is found, a place where you can have the best dance parties, and a place that made me realize no matter what, everyone is created in the Lord’s image. wherever we are, we should welcome people knowing that they have unsurpassable worth. what it looks like to truly love is being different and stepping out of your comfort zones to listen to others. taken in Dry Bones Denver by @_addie.driskill

God has made a home among his people.

this past week i learned what it truly means to abide in the Lord. abiding does not mean occasional spiritual moments, but instead a consistent & daily relationship. whenever things become difficult or even boring we must still choose to remain in him. Jesus did not intend for us to stay on the mountain tops where everything feels easier, but to abide in him even in the lowest valleys because God chooses to live with us and will never leave.

truly abiding begins with realizing that God is always with us.

in this world there is a lot of brokenness, love lost, and difficult journeys, but Jesus will always walk with us.

this past week i had the amazing opportunity to travel to denver and meet new friends! i have been forever changed by this experience and it will always be something i hold close to my heart. I never thought i would see myself stepping out of my comfort zone and sitting with a stranger who changed my life in minutes. joy and love radiated off of every person i was with, whether it was a gentle hug, playing competitive pool, making pizzas, bowling, or even just a smile, the Lord was present. from this trip, i learned how to look at others and myself with unsurpassable worth & value, unconditional love, and cherished belonging. we are called to love others and walk with them through life because community is needed. thank you dry bones for everything, see ya next year!! 🫶🏻☀️🏔️ taken in Dry Bones Denver by @_addie.driskill

i am still in awe of the beautiful creations of the Lord. he is truly amazing! i see his beauty and power everytime i look around-everything from the smallest flower to the biggest mountain it has all been carefully created! i am so grateful for the amazing opportunity to travel around alaska and experience and be surrounded by the work of his hands.

God doesn’t call the qualified he qualifies the called.

I watched God work in SO many ways this week. whether it was talking while making bracelets, chanting until you lose your voice, or worshiping together, he is always working and present! I am so blessed to have the opportunity to be surrounded by so many amazing friends, mentors, and leaders!! church camp gives me the chance to build new friendships and be vulnerable with the people around me. i love watching the holy spirit move through a room of broken people worshipping a perfect God together. it truly is so powerful! i was filled with tears of joy seeing a community come together to support one another.

throughout this week @cjluckeydope and many other mentors opened my eyes to what it means to be qualified in Christ. we often feel unqualified to do the work of God, but someone, somewhere is waiting to hear what God has called you to do. God works in MIGHTY ways using the willing NOT the perfect. i often feel that my flaws and sins make me unqualified to be used by God but he makes me new. he is interested in who we will be; not who we used to be. he uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things-we are called to work together to glorify him. God did not give us the spirit of fear, but he works through OUR obedience and the outcome is his part. We all have unique gifts that God brings to life!
