How everyone showed up to PowerPoint night.✨ #dressforthewrongevent #powerpointnight #hangoutideas by @_adeboyetolu
At the risk of sounding like a LinkedIn lunatic, this suit taught me a lesson on sales. Every guy has a black suit… that was the rationale behind Doyin telling his groomsmen to wear a black suit for the wedding. I had one too… An oversized jacket and a random black trouser. It was giving secondary school graduation suit, but I didn’t care. Shebi it’s what I have that I’ll wear. Then @_olubukolar cornered me one Sunday and asked if I was going to sew something for Doyin’s wedding. She initially suggested an Agbada, but a friend was already making that for me as a belated birthday gift (Shoutout to @caleb_femi), so I said nahh. In that moment, my coat (not suit) flashed through my mind, so I asked if she makes suits for men. I totally forgot that she made the jacket that @balogun.of.cities wore for his wedding. So she reminded me of that piece, the other suits she’s made, and how she’s looking to solidify her corporate men’s wear collection. The rest is history as they say. But what was the lesson: Yes, your friends know what you’re selling, but don’t sit down thinking they will automatically remember you when they need your product/service. You may be their bestie, but you’re not their only vendor. And they may not even realise their need for your service until you mention it. You have to ‘be selling’ constantly… even to your friends. Closed mouths don’t get fed. P.S. I’m forseeing a future where my IG may host business content, so feel free to unfollow while you have the chance… cause once I start, we’re in it together o. by @_adeboyetolu
I’d typically insert an excerpt of my Substack article here (and maybe I will later… when I finally get to writing it), but I feel like I unpacked this trip enough in my highlights. At this point, my IG has become my digital photo album. It would be a shame if it all goes away one day. But then again, that too will be a new adventure… just like this trip was. Collect books, even if you don’t plan on reading them right away. Read deeply. Stay open. Continue to wonder. — 𝘈𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘒𝘭𝘦𝘰𝘯 (𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵) #2025books #coffeeandbooks #bookquotes #bookcarousel #2025wrapped by @_adeboyetolu
Weekend maxing or what do the kids call it these days… @ijeaweletribe put this together and it was so worth it! Here’s 🇧🇯 and 🇹🇬 in 36 seconds. by @_adeboyetolu
2025 RANDOMS. Because I’m the friend that thinks everything is aesthetic. by @_adeboyetolu
No matter how big we become, no matter how crazy our journey gets, having the simple joys of life will always keep us grounded. — 𝘈𝘯 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘮𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘚𝘶𝘣𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵, 𝘈𝘣𝘦𝘰𝘬𝘶𝘵𝘢: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦. by @_adeboyetolu
Olumo rock was slippery. If you don’t have shoes with friction, just take the stairs — but on a second thought, where’s the fun in that? The smell of the dyes from the Adire production place (not in the slides) reminded me of Tie-dye practicals in secondary school. Fun times… ish. Halaga Canteen (also not in the slides) was a proper canteen… bustling with customers that know good food, and staff that didn’t care about your feelings — that’s how you know you’re in the right place. OOPL was serene. Very chill. The museum, the library, the lake. I could’ve stayed at their lodge if I needed a retreat — but then, I wasn’t here to chill. Kuti Heritage Museum was old and nostalgic. The floorboards creaked, the rooms painted memories of a life I never lived, and the pictures told stories of passion, courage, defiance, mixed with a tinge of the sadness and grief that comes with being a free soul in this crazy world. by @_adeboyetolu
The last time I visited Olumo Rock was probably when I was 7 years old. Between then and yesterday, a lot has changed. One — I’ve stopped saying “see how your head is big like Olumo rock” and Two — the place has had a facelift, thanks to the new Ogun State government. They’ve done a good job there and they deserve their accolades. We also checked out other notable sites like the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, and I must say ‘OBJ was a president’ in every the sense of the word. I was surprised to see how many books he’s written, even with all the responsibilities he’s had to juggle over the course of his military and political career. I was also touched to see that he actually wrote a book about his friend — Colonel Nzeogwu, who led the first military coup in 1966. As with most humans, our lives can be complex and it’s hard to say whether our actions will make us heroes or villains. All I can say is that everyone ought to live their lives in a way that pleases God and benefits humanity. Our final stop was at Kuti Heritage Museum and at this point, I was like ‘these Abeokuta people are a different breed’. Of course, everyone knows about Fela and the life he led, but it all came together when I learned about Mrs Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti. I daresay she’s the star of their family tree. There’s a lot to say about her courage, activism, and her later years, but for now, believe me when I say she’s a Queen. We also stopped by @halagacatering and had one of the best Amala and Gbegiri I’ve tasted in a while. Thanks to my plug @mytorrista and Halima from @kayakinlagos for putting this together. If you want a similar experience, you know who to reach. ♥️ by @_adeboyetolu
Ladies and gentlemen, never go hiking in an all-black outfit. Yes, I know that black retains heat a lot more than other colours, but I had a look in mind that fit the vibe I wanted from my pictures — so I damned the consequences and wore it anyway. After a few steps up the mountain, the consequences began to damn me… — Excerpt from my new Substack post: A case for friendliness. Link in bio.♥️ by @_adeboyetolu
Scenery — because I’m that friend who thinks everything is aesthetic. Don’t be shy to ask me for your next wallpaper. ♥️ by @_adeboyetolu
