Journey to the Galaxy is out now on @bandcamp

This summer, I spent time with modular and explored a new sonic palette. Journey to the Galaxy is part of the experiments, with two tracks capturing my intuitive responses to the modular synth.

My original composition for celebrating 5 years of successful breeding of Carey’s Ospery in the South of England @birdsofpooleharbour , Ex Ubi Fuit (Where it was from), will be performed by Professor Matthew King @the_music_professor at Corey’s Secret Garden on the 16th of June.

This piece is inspired by an osprey’s migratory journey, the work traces its movement from its place of origin to its destination. The composition captures the experiences of this first migration, encompassing moments of calm, discovery, hardship, and resilience as the young osprey navigates an unfamiliar world.
The piece incorporates the sonification of ‘Age of Dyfi chick at migration’ data as compositional material. By translating biological data into sound, the work explores the moment of departure and the beginning of migration, following the osprey as it leaves its birthplace and embarks on its first journey.

It was such a pleasure to be a part of the Vibrance Festival!
I‘m especially grateful the festival happened while my younger brother is visiting London, so that I can show him what I’m doing in London more than just sitting in front of the computer with a stressed-out face 😂
Thank you @guildhallschool @guildhallproductionstudio @cityoflondoncorp @culturemilebid for letting this happen!

Thanks a lot to @myunghankim ’s fantastic piano for Lichtspiel, Opus I. Also, thanks to Guildhall Session Orchestra, Peter, Sam, Barbara, and Andrea! taken in Milton Court Concert Hall by @_after.nuoon
