Honoured to be invited to the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to represent India and Indian classical dance at an official event organised by Campus France, under the high patronage of the Office of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron. 🇮🇳🇫🇷

Standing on an international stage and representing Indian culture through Kathak was a moment of immense pride and gratitude.

I have been training in Indian classical dance for over 20 years, and Kathak has shaped me in countless ways. It has taught me discipline, perseverance, expression and the importance of staying deeply connected to one’s roots.

My journey in France began when I was selected for the Charpak Excellence Scholarship, which gave me the opportunity to pursue my studies here and become part of the growing cultural and academic exchange between India and France.

To represent the art form I love so deeply on an international platform was truly special. I am proud to carry Indian culture with me while building my career in business and sustainability in France.

I do not own the music. It is a creation of Shankar Mahadecan.

Il y a des villes que l'on visite. Et il y a Paris, que l'on ressent.
Paris, là où les rêves prennent la couleur du crépuscule by @_agnimitraa_

The Eiffel Tower didn’t ask for this performance, but we “Phir Se” refused to let it off the hook! 💃🏻✨The locals are just thrilled we skipped the tap routine.

P.S. I happened to by chance meet @_agnimitraa_ , a Kathak dancer in Paris! An impromptu experience - we choreographed this lilting track in half an hour. Things we do for the joy of dance! Shot on the go by Nithyaesh

Special mention to @ramana_balachandhran for the fantastic Veenai segment in this track, that our hearts enjoyed dancing to.

When navigating through the vicissitudes of life, we often forget the tender, simple and old moments that feel feathery comfortable and as if nothing changed over so many years, where we can be silly, soft, intimate.
