“GETAWAY” (Solo) - RACER X ⛓️‍💥

Paul Gilbert rules. I tried to go for a cool “rack” tone with with the layered chorus and I really liked how it came out for this video.

The rawness of this first Racer X album is just so sick. The title track “Street Lethal” I will probably do in the near future.

ARMED FOR ACTION - @wantedbandofficial ⛓️‍💥

This one is total John Sykes worship, and really the first time I ever did anything like this on an album. I’ve been taking a lot of inspiration from his work with the 87’ Whitesnake album, as well as his Thin Lizzy (Specifically Thunder and Lightning) stuff. A lot of the work he did with TL was so ahead of its time, and you can hear how identifiable his playing was even to the last Blue Murder record. Genuinely one of the coolest players from that time period.

“HE-MAN WOMAN HATER” - @extreme_band ⛓️‍💥

What an explosive intro. I always thought that was a funny lead up into SUCH a great riff, I used to be in another band before @wantedbandofficial and this was one of the songs we had learned. Super percussive.

Nuno rules!

TAKE ME AWAY - @wantedbandofficial ⛓️‍💥

First time ever doing a video on this one. One of the solos I really sat down to write rather than just improvising it at the studio for Cutting Edge. Went for like a modified DeMartini sound that had a Doug Aldrich feel to it, as the vocal approach to the song felt very Lion to me.

That first Lion album had a huge impact on me at the time, especially “Powerlove”. Perfect mix of groovy hard rock rock and punchy metal.

Rockin’ some as of today unreleased merch, thank you @full_volume_music_ for the straight heat.

TIME TO SURRENDER - @wingertheband ⛓️‍💥

Genuinely one of the coolest riffs of all time. Reb Beach is one of my favorite guitar players, always has the coolest riffs and seems like a really cool guy in interviews. Would love to incorporate some of his tapping in my solos for @wantedbandofficial someday.

OVERRIDE - @wantedbandofficial ⛓️‍💥

This is really the song where the George Lynch-isms exploded and I didn’t really hold back on them HA. The other solos on “Cutting Edge” are a lot more varied and not so honed in on one influence like this one (to those that hate it i’m not sorry) BUT its a killer song, and Sterling and the guys really help steer it into it’s own voice.

This one gets requested a lot for our setlist, it kind of goes hand in hand with Take Me Away in terms of energy and speed, but I prefer this track much more. Has that spooky sound to it.

“WE’LL MEET AGAIN” - PANTERA ⛓️‍💥

Probably personal favorite D. Darrell solo of all time

I found this album much later than I should have, but to say I’m a huge fan of Pantera’s “Power Metal” is a huge understatement (I got the shirt on and the record on the wall). I appreciate the other three 80s Pantera records, but personally this one holds up to their 90s catalog and honestly should be acknowledged just as much as their later material. This is my personal favorite track off the album, but “Rock The World”, “Hard Ride”, “Over and Out” and “Proud To Be Loud” are also up there for tracks I listen to regularly. by @_alan.enrique_

“HEAVEN TONIGHT” - YNGWIE MALMSTEEN ⛓️‍💥

My very first concert was Yngwie Malmsteen back in 2017 (birthday present from my parents who had no idea who he was, I found him on youtube and thought he was awesome).

I was 14 and I remember leaving St Andrews Hall in Detroit with my perspective completely changed on live music and wanting to someday be in a live band playing venues. Now here I am with @wantedbandofficial traveling and doing what this guy influenced me to do when I was a kid.

My current favorite Malmsteen albums are Odyssey, Trilogy, and Eclipse. I do see Rising Force as the quintessential album for Neoclassical metal though.

“Power” by @wantedbandofficial ⛓️‍💥

We just started adding this one back to the setlist so I thought I’d give it a full play-through today.

This is the solo that I had the hardest time going back and relearning, it just uses a lot of techniques that I don’t regularly use in my other solos with WANTED. It’s great for sharpening up for sure. by @_alan.enrique_

EVIL - MERCYFUL FATE ⛓️‍💥

I’ve been feeling a bit inspired to post more covers so here we are (some @wantedbandofficial guitar closeups too).

Absolutely love this album, Melissa is definitely up there for one of my favorite productions of early heavy metal. The Shermann/Denner guitar duo will go down as one of the most underrated for sure. by @_alan.enrique_
