🇬🇹

the streets of Santa Cruz smell of fresh tortillas and exhaust from the tuk tuks climbing the narrow cobblestone pathways. There’s a breath of air that’ll occasionally brush past you , rippling from the lake. Sometimes something floral will find your nose but it’s hard to make out just what the exact scent is.

I found myself getting lost in the faces of some of the locals. It’s hard to describe, but I came across one woman who I knew carried stories. Her energy was light in weight but heavy in depth. I read the wrinkles and lines that dressed her face and I couldn’t help but think of the delight in aging; how the spirit expands and the energy begins to know itself.
Life becomes more true… not good or bad, but true.

I can only hope to be an elder, soft and quiet, on a Guatemalan street side - present to the subtleties of life.

I do think we sometimes come to our plates so hungry that we forget to eat.

And I do think sometimes we sit down within the mother of summer forgetting how to be held… but rather just how to keep going.

each time I forget, & I’m bruised into remembering,
I look up and think …

“you win, again.” ☁️

i want to write stories.
with photography.
with words.
through my music.

I want to write stories within the people I love because they deserve it.
I want each day to be a gentle inscription upon the surface of my heart like a sort of moon landing broadcasted live.

I found myself lately putting on a mask… pretending. Because I can’t help but live from my heart and it doesn’t always feel safe to do so.

But today I will
