Y’all I did not want to take these photos.. I was tired and bloated (all that rice). But the more I look at the first photo tears comes to my eyes. It’s a reflection of God’s faithfulness, intentionality, and sovereignty. It’s a manifestation of the affirmations I’ve been saying for almost 200 days w/ my sis. It’s redemption of times I hated myself and hated how I looked. Y’all this pose is what I would’ve considered in formers seasons my “bad side”. This is a testimony of the @destination.dreamcation experience. While this trip was filled with sooo much adventure, fun, joy, laughter, & relaxation. It also pushed me out of my comfort zone and challenged me to think and dream bigger. To come out of the box I put myself in. It reinforced beauty, womanhood, and sisterhood. It was a reminder of God’s sufficient grace and I will forever be grateful.❤️

Joel 2:25 “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…” Quick testimony that I didn’t want to share on here, but I feel led to: About 4 years and 6 days ago (Dec 12,2020) I graduated from UNCG with my Bachelor’s in Accounting with a minor in Information Technology. Like everyone who graduated in 2020, I didn’t get to walk. I also didn’t have a celebration, nor did I receive flowers and balloons like I wanted and assumed I would get. Which grieved me, made me a little bitter, and I don’t know how it is for every one else but post graduate depression was real. Fast forward to the beginning of this year, I have to admit, although embarrassing, I still carried the weight of this disappointment. In May 2024 the Lord freed me from that weight and blessed me in a way I could have never imagined. It had been 3 years and 5 months since I graduated and he blessed me with my dream celebration… a trip to Mexico and the balloons and flowers my heart desired. Yeah I say all of this in hopes to encourage someone .. it’s NEVER too late. Never too late to celebrate, begin, start over, make amends.. whatever it is. Trust that God will make a way, if it is in his will. And he sees you, he hears you. I thank God for my friend Yahya.. for using her to do this for me .. for her yes .. for her obedience.. for her willingness. I thank God for His faithfulness, His mercy, His goodness. by @_alexisjanea
