Happy Birthday, my love ❤️

You’re unbelievably brave and undeniably precious. I’ve seen you navigate difficulty and bliss with the same smile on your face and that has inspired me deeply just like getting to grow in love with you has. I’m excited and honored to walk this life with you by my side. You’re my color in a grey world, and not just because I’m colorblind 😂

You’ve taught me to smile when I don’t feel like it

You’ve taught me to be vulnerable when I didn’t think it was possible

You’re so easy to celebrate

I love you 🌎❤️ by @_alexxgmz

Psalm 34:18 says “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”

Often times our theology of God tells us that God is this cosmic disciplinary figure or a heavenly instructor always wanting to teach us something and while He does fill those roles, we tend to forget that He is our Father.

He desires to tend and comfort your soul.

He cares about the things that hurt you.

He cares about the things that have traumatized you.

What if the Lord, before wanting to enlighten you, just wants to be present and have you lean on His shoulder and cry and process? Maybe he’s not rushing your healing so that you can “arrive” somewhere.

Maybe He really is long suffering. Maybe He really is near to the broken hearted. Maybe he really is gentle with a bruised reed.

The mindset that tells you otherwise is an orphan spirit, my friends. It tells us we don’t have a home, a safe space, a present heavenly Father to run to.

The good news is is that those are lies from the enemy.

So glad to have welcomed back Father Seth for another episode where he gives us a peek into the history of Anglicanism, breaks down the sacrament of baptism and if it saves us, defends protestantism, and more 🔥

What’s that? You haven’t watched our latest episode?

I’m afraid the bar is too low for this generation.

Lord help us to seek purity.
Lord help us to not compromise on the standard of holiness.
Lord help us to walk by the Spirit that we might not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Search our hearts.

We can’t hide behind “this is my sacrifice unto the Lord” when we are being disobedient when no one but God is looking.

1 Samuel 15 tells us that obedience is better than sacrifice.

When Cain gave his offering to the Lord did he not give the Lord a portion from his labor? He did. It wasn’t that he didn’t sacrifice an animal like Abel did, it was that the offering was impure because Cain was impure. The Lord knew Cain’s future response to his sacrifice being rejected and through that, Cain was tested.

His true inner impurity was revealed.

You think your labor is going to make up for your rebellious heart and you’re only fooling yourself.

You think your “sacrifice” is going to cover up for your lack of integrity behind closed doors.

Don’t hear what I’m not saying.

Some churches could definitely use more structure while others could use some more flexibility in their service flow.

What I am saying is that our services should be prepared to yield to the one we claim to be hosting. The Holy Spirit isn’t weird, people are weird & I want to see a generation that doesn’t care if a 5 second transition felt “awkward” because we are so focused on beholding the One.

I am not ignorant to the fact God used structure and rigid systems in the Old Testament to interact with His people. However, while God does bless structure what we see in the West is we reach a point where there is no longer any exercise of faith. Where we lean on our Planning Center’s more than the Spirit of God. There’s no need for “trusting” the Lord to show up because even if He doesn’t (manifest presence) it’s okay because we have learned how to do church without God.

Have we grown too comfortable with never being uncomfortable?

Are we to believe that every new thing the Lord does in our midst will always be within the confines we give Him?

Will we never be “blown away” when He shows up?

When was the last time you felt that way in the presence of the Lord?

I’m ruined for normal, my friends. I’m not saying that charismatics have “arrived” somewhere that others haven’t, but in the West we have set the bar so low, imo. The Holy Spirit DESIRES to move in our midst, if we want to set a generation free from bondage and demons and sin, we ought to welcome every facet of who the Holy Spirt is into our churches. by @_alexxgmz
