🦉💬 INTRODUCING ALISON ADAMS

Alison Adams is an actor and writer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Windsor. Alison was a part of the Tarragon Young Playwrights Unit Extended Cohort in 2021, and she will also be in Half Blind Owl’s The Slate theatre festival in September 2024 with her play stupid dumb idiot. In her time away from the theatre, she is an avid martial artist with a speciality in Okinawan Shorin Ryu karate, karate kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She believes that these physical arts are not only her moving meditation, but the practice of exploring the body through space: essentially, another mode of storytelling.

“stupid dumb idiot” is about my journey through a heartbreak that absolutely shattered my sense of self and, therefore, I had no choice but to face my beliefs, my habits, and my desires for what I wanted my life to be. The piece is presented through conversations that have had a giant hand in healing me through female companionship and empathy. It’s tragic, it’s funny, it’s manic; it’s what I went through, and I hope that others find solace in it as I did with writing it.

Any other dumb, stupid, idiots out there?? Let’s try to get smart at THE SLATE FESTIVAL 2024!!!

For tickets to The Slate, email us at halfblindowl@gmail.com or send us a DM. The festival runs from September 26th-28th, with performances starting at 7PM. There will also be a matinee show on Saturday September 28th at 1PM.

SO excited to be sharing this art with you all. Hope to see you there. REMEMBER THE 26th-28th NIGHT (and matinee) OF SEPTEMBER!!!!
