Truly, a heavenly vision in white, Ukrainian designer Anastasia Polishchuk transforms this holy colour from a symbol of innocence into a provocative critique of religious hypocrisy. Closing Central Saint Martins’ 2025 Reset show, Polishchuk’s fully white Ultrasuede garment fuses scripture, Ukrainian Orthodox iconography, and couture craftsmanship to interrogate the tension between preached modesty and performed opulence within the Church. Through lilies, pearls, feathers, and architectural silhouettes, Polishchuk positions fashion as a wearable sermon- questioning whether purity is a lived virtue or a carefully styled illusion, and asking who truly gets to enter heaven when faith becomes spectacle.

Constructed from Tyvek, this project uses paper as both material and metaphor to reflect how childhood memories can feel delicate yet endure over time. Hand-applied confetti appliqués represent scattered moments of joy, while an adaptive origami skirt and a sculptural paper bird hat draw on the symbolism of hope, imagination, and memories reshaped by time. Created during a first-year cutting project at Central Saint Martins, the work is rooted in the designer’s experience of growing up in Ukraine, where childhood was transformed by war, becoming a reflection on nostalgia, resilience, and the emotional traces that remain.
