Building a lewk is kinda similar to building a play. you gotta mix and match. you gotta be ok with looking a little stupid. you gotta— bruuuuh, i cannot sustain this metaphor!! but basically what i’m trying to say is:

in the ashes of a dying industry i have been so artistically fufilled and grounded by all of these artists.

Why are we capitulating to media tycoons with bad taste? #Artists have POWER. We have audiences and platforms and the ability to shift culture— it’s why nobody wants to pay us for our worth. Did you know if there was just a 2% tax increase on the wealthy— we could double the NEA budget over night????? Like who the fuck do film tax credits benefit if not the wealthy? Milennials we are the new adults. I often think about how much we will need to rebuild after Commander-In-Poop and his friends fuckoff. $1.7B of YOUR MONEY to a family who calls affordability a “hoax”. We can nip this in the bud now as opposed to the billions of dollars we’ll spend challenging it in court after. I’ve been spamming Senator’s Tillis, Cornyn, Collins, Cassidy, Kennedy, Paul—ever once in a while they gain a spine. Send to fam in the South, send to your red friends who are “fiscally conservative”, send to the folks who have had to start gofundme’s just to pay rent, send to the kids who aren’t ‘political’’. Imagine what good i could do if i was recruited? I’m regulated, medicated and vengeful!! The ladies are getting a crash course into “men in your 20s” —these lessons should have been spread been spread over the decade.
But i think if love island was really about the drama they’d fly me out so i could teach the boys these same lessons!!!

soooooooooooo baby went to her first @blackwomenonbroadway and she had such a good time…she barely remembers how the night ended. What I do remember was how stunning, graceful and hilarious every single honoree was.. I also remember lifting my wig up for anyone who didnt ask cuz I tried to gel my hair down for the event but the hair curled up. But now we know l water based gels ❌ edge control ✅

donate donate they are such a great organization and it felt spiritual to be surrouned by so many artists who have mentored me, hired me, worked with me, taught me. So many brilliant black women in one room— how powerful. by @_amandla

CDMX 10/10 NARY A NOTE 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽

so apparently my cousin @rhymeswithrina goes where the fuck is amandla and as soon as she asked that question my other cousin @just_etta points up and goes: “she’s on the stage”. My actual cousin @muah_lay starts cheering me on then after 1 to 4 to 5 hours of trying to get me to turn the twerk down. She dips. Then not even two seconds later a very kind, very large ivory coastian man taps me on the shoulder and says: “You’re cousins are calling you.”

THEY SENT FOR ME. THEY SENT FOR ME IN THE CLUB.

He said “they said you can’t be in the streets all day and all night, we have outside at home”

And, that’s the beautiful thing about sister cousins they’ll always have my back, they’ll always identify safe messengers to drag me out kicking and twerking, they’ll be there for the good times (trading shots with the bachelor brethren next door boat) to the bad times (the van driver advertised 14 seats but, 3 of the “seats”are water coolers?). I love my cousins, but, i especially love my cousin @muah_lay whose birthday is tomorrow. My cousin, I hope this year is filled to brim with abundance. Abudance in joy, in health, in wealth, in hope and in love. Thank you for a great trip!! Nakupenda nakupenda imma have your back always! (Preferably after the hours of 1pm 🙈🫣💤)
