Still reflecting on an incredible evening.

I am truly honored to have been recognized as one of the inaugural Crown Bearer Honorees of @echoesofthecitykc. To be acknowledged for the work I have the privilege of doing throughout our community, alongside so many remarkable men, was both humbling and inspiring.

What made the night even more meaningful was the intentional investment in men. I cannot remember another gathering so purposefully dedicated to conversations about mental wellness, unity, leadership, and strength.

As men, we are often expected to lead, provide, protect, and serve. We spend so much of our lives pouring into others that we sometimes forget the importance of allowing others to pour into us. Tuesday night was a powerful reminder that brotherhood is not a sign of weakness. It is one of the ways strong men become even stronger.

I walked away grateful for every conversation, every lesson, and every man in the room. Nights like these do not take away from our strength. They refine it.

Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible and who continues creating spaces where men can grow, encourage one another, lead with purpose, and continue polishing our crowns. 👑

Last night, I was honored to be elected President of the Board of Education for the Independence, Missouri School District.

I don’t take this lightly. This moment is humbling, personal, and historic. I am the first person of color to serve in this role, and I carry that with both pride and responsibility.

I’m a husband, a father, and a man of faith. Everything I do is rooted in service and doing what is right, even when it isn’t easy.

To every young person, especially young people of color: you are capable, you belong, and your voice matters. What once felt out of reach is within reach.

The work continues. I’m ready.

Congratulations to Wendy Baird (Vice President) and Brandy Pruente (Treasurer). Looking forward to what we’ll accomplish together.

Here’s to 35! 🎉

Today, I pause with gratitude. At 35, I have had the honor of serving my community in meaningful ways pastoring, leading, advocating, building, and believing even when the road was not easy. Every role, every late night, every hard decision has shaped me for this moment.

As I celebrate Black History Month, I am reminded that Black history is not separate from American history and it is not frozen in the past. It is living, active, and being written right now through the choices we make and the steps we take. I firmly believe that all children deserve a chance to thrive, and are deeply impacted by the access, care, and opportunity we create for them today.

This birthday is not just about celebrating me it is about purpose.

One of the greatest passions of my life right now is Agape Leadership Academy, a childcare center rooted in love, leadership, and community impact. It exists to support families and intentionally shape the next generation so every child regardless of background is nurtured, protected, and prepared to thrive.

At 35, I am walking forward committed to legacy over comfort, service over self, and faith over fear. Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in me along the way. The work continues and the future is being built with intention.

Today we honor Dr. King’s life and legacy in a time that feels louder and more divided than ever. Moments like this remind me that the work of unity cannot be paused just because the climate is uncomfortable.

Yesterday, while preaching, “Called and Claimed” this photo was captured of me holding the hand of my brother in Christ, David. It was not planned or structured. It was real. Two people choosing to support one another, to stand together, and to refuse to let go until change comes. That is what showing up, and driving change looks like!

Here in the City of Independence, MO, my work has always been about building bridges, bringing people together, and turning faith into action not just words.

As I often say,
“Driving change is more than just waking up. It requires getting up, and having the courage to actually show up.” Rev. Anthony J. Mondaine Sr.
