Coming out of my drafts from 2024 🙈 BUT I saw this and immediately thought wow… I want more of this in 2026.

More cabin weekends with friends, or short beach trips, or driving up for the weekend. I have so many friends that live in different states, so anything for the slow moments together, cooking meals, taking walks, reflecting together, encouraging one another, praying for each other. I have so much I’m looking forward to this year but it will be my goal to hold space for these kinds of weekends. by @_amytaylorleak

I haven’t shared a lot of the details of this past year and our engagement season, only because I wanted to be extremely present for it. This season was one of the happiest seasons I’ve ever experienced.. full of so much anticipation, celebration, and joy.

Ethan proposed on December 27, 2024 in my hometown with the help of my entire family. That meant the absolute world to me as I live in another state. It had been a dream of mine to celebrate with my immediate family after we got engaged. Ethan had so many other opportunities to propose in beautiful places but I felt so loved when he chose to do it in CO around my family.

There are so many other things that happened during our engagement season that I’m excited to share :)

But one of the most special parts of this video in particular is the fact that the moment I started recording, Ethan was downstairs on my parents piano starting to play a song he wrote for me — my theme. Ethan is a musician & composer, and he wrote this song after our first date. He had never mentioned it to me or played it for me. When I showed this video back to him in the car after he proposed, he was shocked that my song was playing in the background. He told me the story of it, and I immediately said this had to be the song I walk down the aisle to. And that’s what we did.

I’m so excited to show you all the song he wrote but will share that soon. The piano version is already incredible, but the entire processional he wrote is unbelievably stunning.

I’m still in so much shock of the little details like this that happened. God is so faithful and kind as the author of our stories. All the waiting was worth it.
