Becoming a teacher was never really a dream of mine. It happened almost accidentally.

After my graduation, I randomly decided to join a B.Ed. course. At that time, I honestly wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life. I just joined B.Ed. and went with the flow.

After completing my B.Ed., I remember getting a job offer in Bangalore. I called my friend and told her about the opportunity, and both of us decided to join. We were like, “Let’s just go and see. Maybe a change of city will be good for us.” And that’s how we started our first job together.

At that point, I still wasn’t sure if teaching was something I was really interested in or if I would actually love it. But slowly, through that experience, I started realizing, “Maybe I can actually become a teacher.”

One thing that surprised me the most was my patience. I’m honestly not a very patient person outside the classroom. But the moment I enter a class, somehow I have so much patience. I can sit with the children, explain the same thing again and again, listen to them, and somehow I just have this different kind of patience when I’m with them.

I worked there for a year, and later I joined a school in Pune. And Pune was such a wonderful experience for me. That was when I truly started realizing how much I enjoyed teaching.

I started loving going to school every single day. I loved that morning-to-evening routine. Yes, sometimes it was tiring, but the moment I entered my classroom, I would forget everything else that was happening in my life.

All I could think about was my students—how I could teach them better, how I could make them understand something, how I could make the class more interesting, and most importantly, how I could make their day a little better.

And somewhere along the way, I realized that teaching was no longer just a job for me. I genuinely enjoyed it.

That’s when I started believing that maybe I could actually be a good teacher. I realized that I’m energetic, I have patience when it comes to my students, and I’m capable of connecting with them and making a difference in my own little way.

So, becoming a teacher was never something I had planned. It wasn’t a childhood dream or by @_anj_us_
