The Black House.
Keeping up with appearances, I’m releasing the next few drawings in the Hengistbury series. I’m also in the middle of building a website, which will be linked to a print-on-demand setup for art prints and canvases. Very fancy.

The site will also feature - due to overwhelming demand (by two people) some of my abstract seascape photography.

Right now, it’s a bit like trying to get ducks in a row… except the ducks are digital, on a screen, it takes hours of repetitive actions, and it is quite honestly tedious as hell.

ANYWAY. I’ll let you know when it “drops,” as they say.

Next task: figuring out how to make this all look absolutely delicious on Instagram, because I cannot cope with colour disorder or disrupted creative connection without some kind of coordinating direction. My soul needs alignment.

The Beach House •*

While I’ve been housebound I’ve poured my energy into drawing, and this one means more than most. I wanted to capture the full sweep of the building and the way the huts sit around it, so you can point out your hut!! the view so many of us carry in our hearts.

With kind permission from Steven Bath to use his photo as a reference, I added my own twist. I stripped away the clutter and the boats, but kept our famous ferry.

This was the first place I ever worked, back when it was known as The Hut. A place of beach parties, penny sweets and what felt like an unlimited chip supply. So many of my closest friends started here with me. It will always hold our youth… and what a youth it was.

First time I heard Pearl Jam.
First time I swore at work after dropping a tray of 25 coffee cups. ( F**k sake you fu**ing fu**ers)
First crushes. Questionable haircuts. Cleaning mussels at 8am for the evening bistro. Baking awful cakes. Never having to pay for the ferry….
And the beginning of friendships I still treasure today.

Gallery walls ✨

Well, it’s rather nice seeing something you’ve made up on a wall, looking all colourful. Thank you so much to all you lovely humans who have supported me and bought from me so far!!

I had a weekend of delivering artwork with the help of my other half — I’m well on my way to having my own little illustration biz (winging it 😅).

If anyone knows of any craft markets in the local area, do drop me a DM… I still have a few left in stock before my next bulk order, so grab them while you can.

A new drawing ✍️ This one is called “Boscombe waves” I’ve got some markets coming up so keep your eyes peeled for the dates if you want some art for your walls. I drew this especially for the @surfgirlmag competition. I didn’t need an excuse but it definitely gave me the nudge I needed.

SLOWMO flux 🌊
This autumn marks 10 years of sea photography and seascapes and my love of water imagery has not fizzled away! I may find it a tad harder to get in the sea and some extra planning has to be involved but the obsession never stops. (Hooray to disability) This is the first ever decent wave photo I ever took (in water). This is particularly powerful for me today because my life is hopefully turning into a new exciting chapter and I couldn’t be more happy! So many exciting things coming up.

SOMETHING NEW! ☀️✨ And golden!

Last week I had the absolute joy of doing my first ever creative seawater product project.

I’d had this idea burning away in my head for a while and really wanted to try something I’d never done before. So I reached out to Emma from @baoskincare, who I met earlier this year at a craft market where we were both selling our wares. We hit it off straight away, so I messaged her completely out of the blue and asked if she’d be up for jumping in the sea with me and a few of her gorgeous products.

I’d never done anything like this before, so I honestly had no idea how the images were going to turn out, I just knew I wanted to create something in my own style and put my own twist on an idea that had been living in my brain for a while.

With no real brief other than “in the sea”, it was such a fun and rewarding chance to experiment, play around creatively and see where the idea took us.

A huge thank you to Emma for trusting me with your lovely products and letting me bring this slightly wild idea to life. 💛

Who knows where this might lead… maybe it could turn into something pretty special. ✨🌊

Port hole vision! 👁️
- An accidental wide angle lens in my housing made the coolest of photos, like I was looking through a telescope at my friends in the sea.
Taken when I first got my Fuji camera quite few years ago and went to see @vicky_joy.x and @martha__hayes play in the sea. I only just found these hiding in my lightroom.
