There’s something pretty special about watching your friends do what they love. Especially when what they love involves setting the night on FIRE!!! Last night at Mortimer Farms, I got to watch some incredibly talented friends light up the night! These photos only capture a fraction of how incredible it is to experience the fire, passion, and artistry in person. If you haven’t caught their fire performance yet, you’re in luck! This year was such an incredible reminder of what this community is capable of when people show up with openness, creativity, generosity, and a willingness to be part of something. So many times throughout the weekend, I looked around and thought, “Wow. These are our friends. These are our friends’ friends. This is our community.” Many of you have shared how much this gathering meant to you. A few people asked some version of, “How can I help?” or “How can I contribute more to this?” My first answer is always the simplest one: keep showing up. Keep being part of it. Keep bringing good people. Keep offering your creativity, your presence, your care, your weird ideas, your useful skills, and your full self. That really is the heart of it. When we first imagined Mosaic, the vision was always about celebrating the talent, knowledge, creativity, and artistic beauty of this community. And this year, I genuinely felt like I witnessed that vision come to life in a way we had never experienced at this level before. Our amazing friend and photographer, @_ashley_darling_ , captured a beautiful gallery from the weekend. A few incredible moments from Mosaic this past weekend at Gateway Ranch. There was so much beauty all around me. Music, laughter, art, connection, meaningful conversations, families blowing bubbles with their children, dancing together in the dome, making art, and even spinning music together. No other event comes close to the style of community building that Mosaic has tapped into. What a beautiful blessing it was to try and capture it all happening, all at once, through a single lens. Yesterday, I concluded a major chapter in my life story; I became the first person in my family to earn a Bachelor’s Degree! Little me is completely astonished that I conquered something that I once deemed completely impossible for me to achieve. But, I feel the more worthy accomplishment to share is that without realizing it, my determination, perseverance, and passion for learning, broke through a family cycle and created a new path for my children to follow. My oldest daughter is a sophomore at NAU, and is the first person in our family to ever transition from high school into a 4 year university. I have a 17 year old with her heart set on ASU that will be taking classes at YC next semester. My 15 year old son just earned Robotics Student of the Year through Yavapai College’s MICTED program and is exploring the possibility of an Ivy League school in the future. And, last, but not least, an incredible 4 year old that has been literally right on my lap, while completing the studies for this degree. I could feel the pride radiating from each of them, my amazing partner, family, and friends as I moved my tassel from the right to the left. It’s almost as if in that singular moment, a whole new world has been set into motion. #ycgradjoy by @_ashley_darling_
