Strategic Collaboration. Legal Innovation. Continental Impact. Last week, I had the privilege of covering the 2nd IBA African Competition Law Conference in Lagos as a content partner for my client, Mrs Ozofu Ogiemudia, the Chairman of the NBA Section on Business Law, Partner at Udo Udoma. As Chair of the NBA Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL), my client had the honour of delivering the welcome address at this high-level event—co-hosted by the International Bar Association (IBA), the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), and the NBA-SBL. From my lens as a brand communication strategist, what stood out was the depth and relevance of the discussions—from digital market dynamics to public interest considerations in merger control. The narrative was clear: Africa’s competition law landscape is not only evolving—it’s accelerating. In Nigeria, this evolution has been catalyzed by the FCCPA (2018), with the FCCPC leading boldly through proactive enforcement and public-private collaboration. That spirit of partnership resonated strongly throughout the conference. It was an honour to help shape and share this story—highlighting leadership, legal transformation, and the power of convening dialogue that drives policy and practice forward. From the script to the set, I handled it all. I wrote the concept, directed every scene, and organized the entire shoot for a luxury brand. Every detail, from lighting to mood to flow, was intentional. On set, everyone brought their A-game, and for 6 straight hours we created pure magic.
