Most marketing fails before the first ad is launched.

Most people think marketing research is swot analysis, spreadsheets, and reports.
In reality, real research is already happening, I find businesses just don't listen.

As a digital marketer, here's how I actually segment and research before running ads:

1. SEGMENTATION IS NOT JUST LOCATION

It starts with behavior.
I ask;

Who:
• Watched the video but didn't click
• Clicked but didn't submit
• Submitted but didn't answer calls
• Said "I'll think about it"

Each group needs a different message.
Same ad → different minds → different outcomes.

2. EVERY OBSERVATION IS RESEARCH DATA

When someone says:
• "I need to confirm legitimacy"
• "Let me wait"
• “It’s too expensive”
• "I'm comparing options"
That's not resistance.
That's intelligence vou're supposed to design around.

What It Really Means
One of these is happening:
• I don't trust you yet.
• I don't trust the company.
• I've heard bad stories.
• I don't understand the structure.
• I don't know what could go wrong.
This is not a no.
This is a trust gap.

You can try these responses;
- “I need to confirm the location or documentation AKA is this real?
Try: I totally understand your request, infact it is a part of our (my) Client-product debrief.

If I may, what would move your confidence moving forward. Allocation process, refund terms or a site visit?

- “It’s too expensive”
Try: That’s fair, People often have differing ideas on what is expensive.
Can I ask what is expensive for you, the payment process or unclear risks?

I can help you navigate both.

3. PLATFORMS REFLECT MINDSET NOT JUST TRAFFIC

Each platform is a different psychological state.
If your message doesn't match the mindset, performance collapses.

The mistake most businesses make:
They launch ads before understanding:
• Trust gaps
• Decision friction
• Awareness stage
Then they blame the ads.

THE TRUTH:
Systems convert.
Ads just introduce.
If you fix the system, ads stop feeling expensive. by @_atienemichael

Agro & Real estate ads fail because they assume trust.

Your audience:
• Doesn’t know you
• Is skeptical
• Is at different awareness stages

So selling immediately doesn’t work.

Here’s a simple structure instead:

1️⃣ Awareness ads (education, legitimacy)
2️⃣ Retargeting ads (proof, documentation, clarity)
3️⃣ Automated follow-up + guided calls

That’s it.

Ads attract.
Systems convert. taken in Lagos, Nigeria by @_atienemichael

Palm oil, cassava, plantain... agro real estate is booming!

But here's the truth most investors don't realize: clicks alone don't turn into deposits.

In just 3 days, I ran a campaign with:
• "Awareness ads → video views & ad recall"
• "Retargeting → lead capture"
• "Automated SMS + emails + call scripts
→ CRM tracking"

Result? Double-digit leads, 3 conversions, and a fully automated system doing the work while I focused elsewhere.

Takeaway: Signals don't sell. Systems do.

Birkenstocks at a wedding? 👰‍♀️👟

Most marketers see the new Birkenstock x Danielle Frankel collab and ask: "Who would buy these?"

But the real magic isn't in the shoe. It’s in the strategy. By asking "2026 brides, would you rock these?" they aren't just selling footwear, they’re masterclassing lifecycle marketing:

1. Identity First: They aren't targeting "shoppers." They’re targeting an identity (2026 Brides).

2. Permission Marketing: They’re shifting the category from "cheap comfort" to "high-taste luxury" before they ever ask for a credit card.

3. The Low-Bar Ask: "Would you?" is an opinion. Opinions drive engagement. Engagement drives the algorithm.

The Lesson: Stop rushing the conversion. Meet your audience where they are, design the path forward, and let the timing do the heavy lifting.

Hello Facebook, 🙂

We’re heading into a new week and a new month, lots of businesses have been running Valentine campaigns, maybe you have seen some of these campaigns, and here’s what they should pause and check:

1. Are you selling love… or rushing a sale?
Valentine traffic is emotional, not transactional. If your first message is “Buy now”, you’re skipping the mood.

2. Do you have a follow-up plan after the click?
Seasonal ads spike attention, not trust. If nothing nurtures that attention, it expires.
Do you have a message prepared that can get them to respond? What is the first thing they see after the ad?

3. Are you measuring the right outcome?
Valentine’s ads shouldn’t always be judged by immediate sales. Sometimes the real win is list growth, remarketing pools, or future intent.

Most Valentine campaigns don’t fail because of bad ads.

They fail because businesses expect a moment to replace a system.

Ads don’t exist in isolation.
Seasons don’t excuse weak foundations.

Happy Valentine in advance 😃 by @_atienemichael

If you're a business owner or freelancer and ads have ever left you confused or frustrated, read this.

You've probably:
* Ran ads yourself... or
* Paid someone to run them

And still ended up asking:
"Why isn't this working?"
- No messages.
- No sales.
- Just spending

If that's you, pause for a second…

You're not stupid.
And your business isn't broken.

A lot of ads don't fail because people are "bad at ads."
They fail because there's no clarity across the journey
- Unclear message. (What they see in the Ad is different when they reach the page or dm)
- Unclear goal. ( Is the goal sales? Or awareness )
- Unclear next step. (Are you jumping the awareness stage straight to sales)

Ads don't exist in isolation.
They're just one moment in a longer lifecycle.

On this space, I'll be trying to break down:
- Why ads don't convert (even with good targeting)
- What actually makes campaigns work long-term
- How to think in systems, not guesswork If you care about running ads with confidence for your brand and business.

Still building. Still testing. Still refining systems.

Good morning.
It's a new work week.

Got a project and need fresh eyes? 🙏🏽 let’s work together.

New year. Back to work.

Every January, there’s pressure to move fast, try everything, and “go harder.”

This year, I’m choosing something different: clarity.
In my profession as a lifecycle digital marketer, managing traffic, content, email, messaging, and conversion across the full customer journey.

I’ve discovered something consistent:
Most growth problems aren’t about tools, ads, or platforms. They’re about unclear messages and broken journeys.

Clarity in how businesses communicate.Clarity in how offers are presented.Clarity in how people are guided from interest to action.

So this year, my focus is simple:
* Helping businesses communicate better
* Building systems that attract the right people
* Turning attention into trust, and trust into results

No shortcuts.No vanity numbers.
Just clear thinking and intentional growth.
Here’s to a year of better questions, better messages, and better outcomes.

Happy New Year, let’s do good work. taken in Lagos, Nigeria by @_atienemichael
