This season is called: R.E.S.T.O.R.A.T.I.O.N.
I am flummoxed— and ridiculously grateful —when I reflect on what life looked like 10 years ago. When I left home for Indy, it was moreso out of necessity than want to. My family and support system had moved there. I had no car, no address of my own, no job. A little over 2 years postpartum with Bria— struggling emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Whew. A mess.
And today, I’ve purchased a home for me and my children (as of April 21st, actually). My car was paid off 2 years early — and I’m loopy enough to be considering getting another one 🥴. And a door swung open real wide for a job that actually applied for me— I wasn’t looking for it, it found me. A door that fulfilled a promise that God made to me 12 years ago.

I will go where God leads me. And in this case, I know that He was leading me back home because I NEVER would have chosen it for myself lbs. I moved to Texas because… well, I felt led there. Definitely wanted to leave Indy. But I knew almost immediately that it wasn’t a permanent place— just a pit stop in the journey. And I think there was a part of me that needed to know that I wasn’t stuck. Newsflash buddy: I’M NOT. And now that I know, I would really appreciate being able to sit myself down for more than 2-4 years lol.

Nothing that I’ve obtained or accomplished has been by my own hand. God has been so so so so so so very good to me. And as I step into this new season and try to settle from yet another major transition, I am keenly aware of the fact that while I have never been deserving, He has ALWAYS been faithful.
He gives us what we cannot earn and do not deserve. He’s a God who keeps his promises. I’ve seen it with my own eyes and in my own life. And I give him ALL the glory.

I can’t express enough how proud I am of you. How grateful I am to be able to navigate this life with you. And how blessed I am to call you son. While transition has probably made this a more challenging birthday … I can promise you that your best is ahead of you.

I can’t quite explain it, but something about 36 kinda feels like ✨New Edition✨. I am blessed, with emphasis. Fully known and fully loved. And I love that for ME.

God continues to be faithful and He never fails to surprise me with myself. Lol. He really is perfecting that which concerns me.

Thanks for all the calls, texts, and messages. And thank you to my sisters for always celebrating me and with me. It’s been a GREAT day. 💕

THREE 3️⃣ FIVE 5️⃣
Est Two Thirteen

Somebody’s Mexico was a TIME!
I’ve decided to save Aruba for a different occasion 😉

I’ve pretty much celebrated the whole month which means I’ll probably be extra avoidant of all the things in March lol.

This birthday I:
• Got flewed out lol
• Spent some time just being Ashley- not mommy, not sister, not designer, not friend or any of the other hats I tend to wear constantly. JUST. ASHLEY.
• Nerded out at the ruins
• ATV’d and Ziplined (and I swear it was much faster than that video would have you to believe)
• Ventured into the crystal blue and terrifyingly deep
waters of the cenotes (and suddenly that feels prophetic to me lol)
• Got 32 mosquito bites 🥴. Yes, I counted.
• Met some AMAZING people
• Had the best guacamole of my life ✨small joys✨
The rest of the food was really good too lol
• Put on real clothes lol
• Laughed uncontrollably. I mean really laughed.
Face red, belly hurting, tears streaming laughter.
• Me, Tamia and the girls were ambushed by a random arm 🤣🤣
• Watched Rylee and Bria dance til their hearts were content
• Played and danced with Junie before he gave up and decided napping was better lol
• Found out I get carsick when I ride in the back seat- aging is WILD lol
• Ate a lot and tried a bunch of new things
• GELATO!
• Spent real good time with real good friends.

Thank you to those who remembered.
Who thought of me, called, texted, or left me an Instagram message even though I don’t really read those lol.

I’m grateful. I’m blessed. I’m in a really good place … and let me be the one to tell you, it’s only by the grace of God! I LOVE IT HERE!

This kid is 14 today.
This kid is officially a freshman in high school 😭.
This kid is (almost) taller than me — I’ll give it another month before he breaks the tie.
And let’s not even talk about how deep his voice is and the fact that he has muscles now.
Number 1 Son.
Still eating all my snacks. And your snacks. And will buy his own and eat all of those too 🥴

Happy birthday to My Baby. My First Born. The one who quite literally changed my world. It’s been a blessing to call him son.
