A LETTER TO MY YOUNGER SELF

Hello little Mide,

It's surprising to receive a letter from me right?
I am writing this letter to you to prepare you better for the nearest future. And so, enjoyyy.

Life is beyond your point of view or understanding and so you cannot always have it sorted out. Even when things don't turn out as planned, you can always start again or Change plans.

You will get confused along the way and sometimes, you would feel like you are not making progress. But trust me you are making progress.

I know you're bright and you aren't scared of being a star, but don't stop building your confidence; you will have larger and more important audience as you grow. And so do not consume negative opinions people dish out to you, because you will unconsciously grow self doubt.

I know how much you love and want to be there for everyone,but I want you to love yourself first. That way you will not suffer while helping others. Bear in mind that you cannot always be there for everyone, so do not hate yourself for that.

And a very important thing to remember, is to keep your relationship with God close. You will always need Him, and He will make your journey easier.

Again, life's a rollercoaster, the experience will not be all rosy. But, maintain your smile and joy. Do not give it up for anything.
Keep thriving.

Decency

Not every garment bares the skin,
Some reveal the soul within.
Beneath the thread, a story is told,
Not just fashion, but a heart of gold.

Decency is a queen's attire,
An Agbada's flow, a quiet fire.
A tailored coat, a modest line,
Shows respect for self and others align

Decency is not loud or flashy,
But it shine in shadows, soft and demure.
Dressed with care, a message clear:

I cannot be the only one who has issues deciding to what to wear.
You know that stage of awareness where you're discovering your style and you don't want to over dress or appear shallow to a gathering?
Well in my situation, the gathering is my lecture.

One thing I learnt about fashion is that it tells a story about you even before you get to talk.
And the story your outfit tells about you goes a long way.

In my journey of modest fashion, I have discovered that modesty is not flashy but it shines.

Might I also add that accolades should be given to people who are creative in their modesty.

To have access to healing.

Can I ever get a new one, or the opportunity to redeem this at least?

Some spoons never seem to look old no matter how long it exists. Some spoons, although strong, already bent from poor maintenance.
But in my friend's case, it's a broken spoon.

Ariel kept regretting why she had disregarded her brother, whose love for her never seem to fade despite her cold shoulders.
He used to be her best friend until few years ago, when she became too accustomed to his care and availability for her.

He's gone for good now, and she suddenly realizes that she's lost a treasure. This is her only sibling, the one who has always been there for her since their parents left.
How's she supposed to live with the regret that her brother spent his last days trying to bond with her but she ignored him?
Will he ever come back?
How about a chance to bond again?
