Marti Cummings serves on the Board of Directors for the Ali Forney Center as well as several other non profit boards. They have used their drag as a way to bring awareness to LGBQTIA issues and to engage people politically. Marti made history as the first openly non-binary candidate and first drag artist to run for city office in NYC. They can been seen regularly around NYC performing, as well as all around the world with @myvacaya. AFC serves 2,200 youth annually and serves 378,000 meals annually. The Ali Forney Center is open 24/7/365 with a drop in center in Midtown and housing in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.
