The modern woman is sold a dream—one where empowerment is neatly packaged in luxury skincare, the latest fashion trends, and wellness routines that promise balance but often demand consumption.

We are told that to be successful, desirable, and liberated, we must buy, upgrade, and consume. But who actually benefits from this cycle?

Modernism promised progress, yet consumerism repackaged oppression into something marketable. The idea that womanhood can be curated through purchasing power ignores the structural inequalities that dictate access, autonomy, and agency.

What happens when we stop consuming and start questioning?
