Accent coach on tour series UNLOCKED 🔓

As an accent coach, I work with actors to achieve authentic, embodied voices for every character they approach. I am always looking for ways to expand my skillset and specificity, AND SO as I’m off on tour myself, I have set myself the challenge of breaking down the accent of each place we go to 🤓

Our nutty show @murderplayuk is officially OPEN @theatrclwyd 😍🥜

Being my own accent coach for this role has been such a fun challenge but ALSO v.insightful for me as a teacher. I’ve learnt a lot about what really works, and what is ACTUALLY useful for an actor when approaching a new accent. Can’t wait to bring that experience into future sessions 🫶🏻

& on that note- I am very much still business as usual with accent coaching while we’re on the road.
I still have a couple of regular slots available for autumn, and also aim to keep some space open each week for any one off sessions (for when that last min self tape panic hits 🤪)

Plus will be running some workshops when I’m back in Dec- so watch this space 🤓

I won’t sugar coat it; lasting vocal damage can be a REAL BUMMER. But a tea spoon of a new impression helps the vocal scarring go down (at least metaphorically) 🥄

Over time, I’ve managed to stop focusing what I “could have done” if it hadn’t happened and, instead, start to work WITH the injury, not against it.

And so, I give you my Mrs Banks. Please don’t tell me this isn’t a major bonus skill that I have acquired.
