It’s my birthday 🥳🥳🥳 Alhamdulillah for another year. 🤍

I’m genuinely happy and deeply grateful. I may not be exactly where I want to be yet, but I’m thankful for where I am, how far I’ve come, and everything this past year has taught me.

This new age came with so much growth, lessons, blessings, memories, and answered prayers. And through it all, Allah has been good to me.

Ya Allah, bless this new chapter with peace, happiness, good health, barakah, success, and answered prayers. Guide me towards what is good for me, protect me from what isn’t, and take me closer to the woman I’m praying to become.

It’s been two weeks since I graduated, and somehow, I’m only just finding the words to fully process it. 🥹

If someone had told me a few years ago that I would one day be grateful for having to start university from 100 level, I honestly would have laughed.

After secondary school, my journey to university wasn’t straightforward. I went through polytechnic, spent an extra year at home because of COVID, and when I finally got admission into university, I thought, “Finally, this is it.”

Only to find out during registration that my result didn’t qualify me for the level I had been admitted into, and I had to start again from 100 level.

That moment broke me. I had already spent years trying to get there, and suddenly, I felt like I was starting all over again. My mates were already ahead, and I couldn’t understand why my journey had to be this way.

But today, I look back and I’m grateful. Those extra years gave me lessons, experiences, friendships and memories I wouldn’t trade for anything. I met people who became family and grew in ways I never imagined.

To my parents, thank you will never be enough. ❤️ Thank you for standing by me through every delay and difficult season, for your sacrifices, prayers, patience and unconditional love. Thank you for believing in me even when I struggled to believe in myself. Everything I am today carries a piece of your love and sacrifice.

To my siblings, my beautiful friends, and everyone who supported, encouraged, prayed for and celebrated me, thank you. You are all part of this story. 🤍

And to Professor E.E. Onoja, who was my HOD at the time, thank you for being such an important part of this journey. At the time, I didn’t understand the decision that changed the course of my university journey. Today, I do, and I’m grateful.

Four years later, after all the “I no graduate,” I can finally say…

I graduated. 🎓🥹

Alhamdulillah for the people.
