Party announcement 📣 🌺 As the equinox dawns, we celebrate with a return home….aka Wharf Chambers aka da clurb… with a stacked lineup of QTs! 🌸 Ready to stir up some early club shenanigans is Billy Jack, whose sets are packed with sliding UKG basslines, bubbling breaks, flailing disco, flashes of R&B and plenty of heart. Having cut their eclectic teeth weekly on the Cosmic Slop soundsystem and as a resident of Adonis, Billy has developed a style that is distinctive and playful, and sure to send us into queer stomping pandemonium 🫯 Bringing us up to the peak highs is fellow Adonis regular Jay Duncan. Never one to fit the mould, Jay has bent it to her own vision, with non-conformist selections and impressive productions. Through her DJing, she explores the more blurred intersection of techno and house. Coupled with a love for anything dub-esque and a well timed bongo, her rolling sound flourishes into a sleazy queerdo cocktail of wonky wonder🍸 🎟️ Tickets available on @mulch.leeds !! Link in our bio 🎟️ No one turned away through lack of funds, please email lickquidgold@gmail.com Poster in full bloom thanks to @al_robertson once again!📝 by @_billy_jack__

We’re making our first (and very limited) Welt Discos t-shirt to go with the fabulous ‘Boys Like U’ EP by @_billy_jack__! The quirky characters from George aka @ma.holo’s painting are stepping out of the artwork and onto the back of this mega cute t-shirt. The digital print (designed by @twoducksdisco) tells the story of our protagonist’s adventures on a night out: the highs 🪭, the lows 🔎, the chance encounters 👀 …and the consequences 🤢. It’s a wearable love letter to going out dancing and getting up to mischief in the club. The front of the t-shirt features the Welt Discos logo embroidered with love by our dear friends at @cant_decide_clothing in Leipzig. Only 30 will be made — order through Bandcamp or directly with me. Taking orders for a month before shipping. (Note: if you’re in the US, we can’t ship this to you, sorry! But if you really want one, send me a DM and we can work something out.) Thanks to everyone who’s bought the EP so far, played the music and had a go at the 🧩 Xx by @_billy_jack__

🌋 Billy Jack - ‘Floor Is Lava’ If you haven’t seen the video called “shari vari @ the scene” on youtube, go check it out now. An “all dancers dance show” recorded in 1982, it featured a catwalk of dancers (and one roller-skater!) performing to the proto electro classic by Detroit band A Number Of Names. The first time I heard Billy Jack’s ‘Floor Is Lava’ my mind immediately went back to that song and that clip, its buzzing bassline and spiky groove tailor made for some ecstatic jitting in the discotheque. And this little character in @ma.holo’s painting has clearly been waiting in line, sliding gleefully onto the floor on hearing their favourite song. (Some say this is @rose.kourts in action!) ‘Floor Is Lava’ is up on bandcamp, along with the rest of the EP. Written and produced by Billy Jack (@_billy_jack__) Artwork by George Addy (@ma.holo) Design by Cameron (@twoducksdisco) Mastering by Amaury (@_random.precision_) by @_billy_jack__

💃🏻 Billy Jack - ‘B.L.U 2’ Divas to the dancefloor please! The inspiration behind this utter queen is my friend @arty.ls, because if there’s a raised platform in the club, he will be dancing on it. Also visible near the podium: any one of your many harnessed friends, and a double-fisting @calumrrk about to slip on a banana peel 🍌. Wait a minute…is this a painting of Snax?? Billy Jack’s ‘B.L.U 2’ takes the summery bounce of the first version and flips it into a moody 2-step stomper. The first half of the track is all angles and bass weight, before the second half accelerates into driving speed garage. Step on it! ‘B.L.U 2’ is up on bandcamp, along with the rest of the EP. 🍬 Billy Jack - ‘B.L.U 1’ Everyone has that friend who dances with their eyes closed – or maybe that friend is actually you! For me it’s Speedy G aka Gwenan when she really gets into it, and this little character from @ma.holo’s painting captures her perfectly, here dancing to Billy Jack’s ‘B.L.U 1’. The track is a summery confection of house and garage, with a dash of bubbly breaks for good measure. The vocal “I didn’t know there were boys like you” references Stacey Q’s 1985 classic ‘Shy Girl’, capturing that thrill of hitting the club for a dance and meeting someone special. ‘B.L.U 1’ is up on bandcamp — let me and Billy know if you play it out! 🌹🌀💖💄 Roses are red Violets are B.L.U. Billy Jack’s new EP Is waiting for you! Billy Jack (@_billy_jack__) returns to Welt Discos with three bubbly originals and a dark and twisted remix 😈 from fellow queerdo Jay Duncan (@drumsofjay). The title track ‘B.L.U.’ (it stands for “boys like you”) has been cooked up three ways: first Billy serves us pumping 4/4 and moody 2-step versions, then Jay provides a tasty Van Helden-inspired roller. Meanwhile, the percolating ‘Floor Is Lava’ 🌋 spirits us straight back to the New Dance Show studio. Time to get geeked up! The artwork for this release is a love letter to clubbing 🪩 that captures all the characters you might see on a proper night out. It was painted by Billy’s brilliant brother George (@ma.holo) — can you spot yourself and your friends in ‘Club Shenanigans’? Billy Jack - The B.L.U. EP 1: ‘B.L.U. 1’ 2. ‘B.L.U. 2’ 3. ‘Floor Is Lava’ 4. ‘B.L.U. (Jay Duncan's Blunted Vocoder Remix)’ You can get the EP (and that all important 🧩) on bandcamp now! 💋 ‘In The Pocket’ track-by-track! Billy Jack - ‘Godo Bee’ Billy is one of the team behind @c0smicsl0p and @mapcharity in Leeds and a resident at London institution @adonis.adonis.adonis. Despite us maintaining an intermittent email correspondence for several years, we didn’t actually meet in person until they came to my label night at Arkaoda in Berlin last November. And then they were on the sound system and lights at @pleasuremax.x.x when I played all night in February. Billy’s music is playful, fun and, well, really musical, and ‘Godo Bee’ is an excellent example of that, all at 145bpm. 👀 Stay tuned because the next release on Welt Discos is a full EP by Billy Jack, coming very soon! 👀 ⏩ You can get ‘Godo Bee’ — and the rest of the compilation — digitally at weltdiscos.bandcamp.com by @_billy_jack__
