There is something almost magical about the Basilica Cistern in Istanbul🏛️🕌

Hidden beneath the streets of the city, this ancient underground world feels like a place suspended between history and dreams. Built in the 6th century during the reign of Emperor Justinian I, the cistern once supplied water to Constantinople.

Walking among its hundreds of marble columns, surrounded by the sound of dripping water and the soft reflections on the surface, you can almost feel the presence of the centuries that have passed here⌛️

And then there are the mysterious Medusa heads — silent witnesses to a history that still leaves so many questions unanswered...

Istanbul has a way of hiding its most beautiful stories beneath the surface✨🇹🇷
