Made my own cake this year because I don’t need “Happy Birthday!” as much as I need to remind myself I’m resilient and resourceful AF and that’s what I’m celebrating. I couldn’t even romanticise the past if I wanted to, because I still have a diary from 18 with pages of just the Nirvana lyric “I hate myself and want to die” so I wasn’t a very happy vegemite.

Sunday scaries as always (and it’s my birthday next Sunday so even scarier) but the coolest person I know brought guns to the 4.5 hour FaceTime 🇺🇸💥 and my cat figured out the best place to plant herself and best thing to do with her eyes if that @parmyspizzeria dinner was gonna be for two. Covid was the best time of my life. I lived in the middle of Broadbeach. My company paid me to not work for six months. Austin Butler and I went to the same cafe every day. And this babe and a few others answered my brave post on Facebook for a bunch of strangers to hang out one night but we were the two crazy Europeans who talked with our hands the whole time and and scared everyone else off.
