Turkey vultures are usually known for eating dead animals, but every now and then, one looks at a piece of fruit and thinks:
“You know what? I’ll eat that too.”
While most birds are out here enjoying berries like civilized little creatures, turkey vultures approach fruit with the enthusiasm of a raccoon that just found an unlocked garbage can.
A nice rotten apple? Five stars.
A fermented piece of fruit? Now we're talking.
Something that's been sitting on the ground for three days? Michelin quality.
Turkey vultures aren't exactly food snobs. If it smells interesting, they're probably going to investigate it. Their philosophy is simple:
“If I can swallow it, it's lunch.”
So while turkey vultures may be nature's professional cleanup crew, sometimes they're also just giant flying fruit goblins looking for the weirdest snack they can find. by @_blaz33
