To even have the opportunity to compete in the Ghana Junior Olympics, coming from the States, was something we did not take lightly. From the moment she stepped on the track, my daughter recognized how blessed and honored she was to be there.

This experience brought a real shift in perspective, witnessing young athletes show up with focus, discipline, and heart, some competing without proper sneakers, and learning that some athletes don’t have regular access to running in shoes at all. It highlighted how passion and dedication can exist regardless of resources, and how different paths can lead to the same starting line.

It became a meaningful lesson beyond the podium, about gratitude, awareness, and appreciation for opportunity, moments that will stay with her far longer than any race result.

And to make the experience even sweeter, she earned a 🥉 medal in the Ghana Junior Olympics. A moment we’ll cherish, not just for the finish, but for everything learned along the way. by @_breannerene

Thank you to all whom made this celebration one of the most meaningful birthday celebrations thus far. Thank you all for the gifts, text, calls, DMs, & your presence. I didn’t have any “Birthday Plans 7/8” as Reka & I would just be returning from Colombia & knew I would be exhausted. But my dope ass friends & family didn’t want to hear that.

Sové & Steve both called me & told me that I was going out 7/7 to begin celebrating at midnight & to get my ass dress. Ta & Veet said they was coming over 7/8 & cooking & how it escalated IDK. But they did one up on me at the last fuxxin minute & it was absolutely beautiful 🥺🥹🥺

I truly am grateful for those that are PRESENT in my life.

PS. Ima get around to this Colombia photo dump bc y’all keep asking 😒 but hands down it made the top 5 of my best adventures to date. 🤪

Because of you I get to celebrate today. Because of you I am a better individual. Because of you I do things that I honestly didn’t care to do. Because of you I have reason to smile & laugh daily. Because of you life is an enjoyment. Because of you I have a WHY to live.
