Dear younger self, I owe you an apology. I’m sorry for all the times I doubted your worth, your strength, and your ability to overcome obstacles. If only I could go back and tell you how proud I am of the person you are and the person you are becoming. You’ve faced challenges and adversities head-on, grown from every setback, and never stopped believing in yourself. My boy you are resilient and fearless I can only hope to live up to the example you set for me. Here’s to embracing 30 with a newfound appreciation for the journey that brought me here. I know you would be proud of the person I am today. I look forward to making you even prouder as every day goes on. and one last thing you would think your older self is pretty hot . You came into my life and immediately elevated everything about it, your laugh, your smile, every essence of you encapsulated joy. You represented water in my life, where you put out all of the little fires burning around me , you made me feel safe, you protected my energy even when I didn’t know how to do it myself. To think we met at work in 2021 and you instantly became my best friend, we’d play on the joke at work that everyone thought we were a couple so you came up with my nickname “Boo-Boo” and the name just never retired lol. I’m so overjoyed I had the opportunity to see you thriving in this life, in your career that you worked so hard in school for, the stories of you playing basketball with your little brother, the FaceTimes of you on your way to Arizona to randomly surprise your dad just because, your heart was too big for this world. To have an even a simple thought of you not being here anymore is something that I will forever struggle with but I know it’s only because heaven couldn’t wait another second for you. It felt like god specifically placed you into my world, we built off of each other, where I was weak you made me strong. I owe you a lot. I know you’d be so annoyed with how much I’ve been crying lol but the tears represent how much you meant to me and to my tribe, you welcomed me into your family of friends with open arms and now I have brothers for life because of that. I want to thank you for showing me what it’s like to be completely selfless, to not take life too seriously and to drown the noise out. I hope you see how many lives you touched by the outpour of love of you not being here physically, you were so loved Chris. Life won’t ever be the same without you , you were my safe space , you brought a level of vulnerability out of me that I’d never thought I’d show anyone. I could write a book about these last two/three years but I’ll just leave it here. I’m happy with the many many memories we were able to share, I’ll cherish them and hold them close to my heart until we meet again. I love you and miss you so much Christopher, thank you for being my best friend. Rest peacefully Topher

Dear 2025,

Thank you for the highs that brought joy and the lows that brought clarity. You challenged me in ways I didn’t expect, but every moment shaped me into someone stronger and more aware.

I’m incredibly grateful for my family and friends
for the love, patience, and support that carried me through everything this year held. Their presence made the hard days lighter and the good days even sweeter.

Work was heavy and often overwhelming, but I’m thankful for the growth, resilience, and confidence it gave me. It reminded me of my strength even when I felt stretched thin.

As I look toward 2026, I do so with gratitude and no expectations , just openness, hope, and trust in what’s to come. 📌 taken in Gratitude by @_brendeaux
