Ten years feels like a really short time and a really long time. Like, I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot and then I feel like I’m just scratching the surface. I’m gonna enjoy this milestone.

In ten years though, I’ve dismantled the imposter syndrome. I’m really that girl. I’m really proud. Not in an arrogant way, but in a I’m-winning-in-a-space-that-doesn’t-look-like-me-and-anything-I-want-can-be-mine kind of way.

Thank you so much the Gallo Family and honestly the recruiters that faithful day, in February 2013 and the EIGHT person panel that interviewed me for two hours in March. I was the only one wearing a suit 😂👌🏾.

Thank you to my friends, family, mentors, the partnerships, support teams, colleagues, the champions, the A1s, and everyone that I’m inspired by. My success has been fostered by a village.

I showed up to a vineyard on my first day in rain boots and a raincoat because the managers told me it would be wet 😂 I almost died from heat exhaustion lol. Turns out, it was only wet because the frost system sprinklers were on 🫠. I had no idea what I was doing or who I’d become but here we are. Just get out there and do it. You can learn it too.

I had the privilege of moderating yesterday’s Napa and Sonoma Chapter, Women For Wine Sense @winesensenapasonoma panel in honor of the International Year of the Woman Farmer! Thank you for the opportunity to guide the conversation between @michelschlumberger Winemaker, Natalie Winkler @njw_vines, @chappellet_winery Viticulturist Stephanie Kunkel, and Bianco Winegrowers Viticulturist Kelsey Leslie @mrs.leslie06!

Between the three panelist, there’s nearly 60 years of experience and knowledge and one of the biggest takeaways is that women have been here, are here, and will continue to be here. We can retire the phrase “woman farmer”.
