Sitting on the floor of my daughters nursery looking around at all the color she’s added into our life. From the tiny newborn clothes that I’m still wanting to squeeze her into, to the many handmade baby blankets that were gifted from loved ones, to the wobbling stack of thrifted baby books & paci collection in all the corners of our house.

I didn’t realize how much color was missing from my world until I started looking for the matching socks for a 3 month old.

Watching her eyes light up when she wakes up in the morning to the window vinyl casting twinkling colors all over the walls.

How watching her mom & dad who grew up together stay playful with one another, so much that in the same moment, she let out her first belly laugh.

There’s so much happening all around us all the time that we often miss the color fading. With everything heavy that is going on in the world, I thank Jesus every day that he gifted us this baby. She is the all we could have ever wanted and more than we could have ever imagined.

As I sit here admiring what my life has become since she’s been in it, I felt like I needed to share that it’s okay if all you did today was be thankful for another warm morning.

As I soak up these slow days with my beautiful girl, I’m reminded that life is a precious gift, try not to miss the color.

Since August -

• chicken salad was this baby’s name for weeks
• telling our family & friends was beautiful
• big fan of Chinese buffet or any buffet really but missing sushi dearly
• baby’s first concert
• can’t wait to read all the baby books
• dressing up for work during Fall + while pregnant? WIN
• work retreat = death row lunch 🤤
• best friends threw me a pretty little liars themed bday how effing cute
• painting cereal bowls with my baby’s daddy >
• suddenly craving food I HATE ?
• soaking up all the movie dates with Jordy

dear reader, this summer so totally rocked my socks but I am feverishly waiting for autumn.

Discoveries:
- can’t mix drinks anymore or I get the worst hangovers
- bigggg fan of blueberry pancakes
- I found my first grey hair so the song choice was essential
- Bach parties/trips are my favorite vacation what will I do when all my friends are married ??
- always wear sunscreen
- quit your job and follow your dreams!!!!
- eat breakfast for every meal of the day
- discovered I really like lemon drop martinis
